Race 1 Buy Sell & Exchange Sprint - C3 - 295 JIMMY CEE was the last to jump from the inside. WISE WONDER ran inwards soon after the jump tightening OSCAR TUIVASA and ANY BAD HABITS for a few strides. JIMMY CEE was tightened into the bend as OSCAR TUIVASA improved along the rail. As OSCAR TUIVASA continued to improve he pushed ANY BAD HABITS outwards on to EL MAESTRO who received a check and ran wide losing ground and dropping to the rear.
Race 2 I Pave Concrete Sprint - C4 - 295 FINN MCMISSILE ran inwards in the early stages tightening STUMPY KASHKOW. FINN MCMISSILE checked off the back of FREDDIE BAXTER into the bend and lost momentum. SEA SPRAY TICH and STUMPY KASHKOW then were both checked in this incident and lost their positions. The winner FREDDIE BAXTER was knocked over at the lure and returned with blood in his mouth with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury.
Race 3 Thursday Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295 BLACK PAN was checked soon after the start and dropped to the rear. Into the bend HOMEBUSH COLT was checked from behind losing ground with DECADO and BIGTIME YAHOO being inconvenienced at this point. Due to technical difficulties no head on view was available for this event.
Race 4 Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C4 - 295 CAWBOURNE FLIPPA was a clear last to jump. ZO LA DOE and DA BOSS both ran outwards into the bend with ANOTHER RAEWYN being badly checked and dropping to the rear. Jason Dunn the Trainer of the winner GENISTA GARDENS cited the ace draw and the downgrade from C5 as the major reasons for the dog's turnaround in form tonight.
Race 5 Murray @ Ray White Ph.3715005 Dash - C5 - 295 KNOW ADVANTAGE and FOUR BY TWO were the slowest from the traps. KNOX and FOUR BY TWO came together wide on the track in the back straight. On the home turn CAWBOURNE TANK checked off OBSESSED losing momentum.
Race 6 Clarkson Sign Studio Stakes - C2 - 520 OPAWA RAPID was the slowest to jump. WANDY PAUL crossed the face of the field in the early stages with BOBS EYE and LAGOON BEACH BOY receiving some tightening as a result. On the home turn BOBS EYE checked off the back of NOT A KNOW while soon after NOT A KNOW changed ground to obtain a run to the outside of WANDY PAUL.
Race 7 Borat At Stud Stakes - C3/4 - 520 THANKS CHARLIE ran outwards in the early stages coming together with BARNABY BALE. On the first turn THANKS CHARLIE checked outwards off the back of STILL HELINA and pushed BARNABY BALE, MORIARTY and MIXED GRILL wider with these runners all losing ground.
Race 8 2012 Super Pets New Zealand St Leger Final - R/Af - 520 ADMIRE angled inwards in the run to the first bend with MOLLY PAISLEY and GONE AWOL both being tightened and losing ground. On that bend GONE AWOL checked outwards off the back of UNSHAKEN and into the path of the favourite KNOW PEACE who was checked. On the home turn UNSHAKEN crossed to the rail and badly checked MOLLY PAISLEY who lost ground finishing well back.
Race 9 2012 David Emerson Consultancy Harding Cup Final - C5f - 295 ZEBIDIAH and ADINI came together for a stride at the jump. DIXIE LEE was contacted by NIPPA MARY as she crossed from her outside draw. On the bend KYANN checked outwards off the back of COOL JORDIE badly checking ADINI who lost his chance dropping to the rear. DIXIE LEE was also inconvenienced in this incident. A post race veterinary check of ADINI revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Race 10 Robbie's Bar & Bistro Stakes - C5 - 520 This and the next race were delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. KNOW SPUNK, BADJA BALE and KING OF CLUBS were the last to jump. EMILY and KING OF CLUBS came together for a stride in the run to the first bend. YELLA MUSTARD checked off the heels of the pacemaking EMILY BAXTER at the end of the back straight losing momentum. KING OF CLUBS angled wide on the home turn pushing BADJA BALE over extra ground.
Race 11 Jet Pets Dash - C5 - 295 CALLAHAN was very slow from the inside. PRETTY GOOD ran inwards in the early stages coming together with LADAKH and KNOW ESCAPE.
Race 12 Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295 JACKSON CAT ran inwards at the jump checking THRILLING SADIE and FIERY FLOWER who in turn ran outwards checking HOMEBUSH BORIS. Into the bend HOMEBUSH BORIS hunted down to the rail badly checking GOTTA FIND BUBBA, OKUKU WEE MAN and AVERT with this runner being dragged down and all of the checked dogs losing their chances. Stewards requested the veterinarian to check AVERT and GOTTA FIND BUBBA following the race with no abnormalities being detected. Bruce Dann the trainer of the winner JACKSON CAT was questioned in regards to the vastly improved performance of this dog. He said that the dog was on the way back from a gracilis injury and on a downgrade but he was still surprised at the win.
