Judicial report: TRIPLE AYE (W Hodgson) was presented to the vet after not being presented on Wednesday due to a miscommunication. The dog was found to have pain in a fan muscle and was stood down until 13 August 2013.

Race 1	Absolutely Electrical C2 Ht 1 - C2q - 520 Heat 1	OPAWA GIFT (4) proved difficult to box prior to this event and then was the last to jump. OPAWA GIFT will be boxed first in her immediate engagements. BIGTIME TIP (7) ran inwards in the initial stages dictating the line of EMBEE DEE (6) down the track with this runner coming together with THAT'S KING (3) for a stride soon after. THRILLING TERROR (2) checked outwards sharply off BOTANY MOLLY (5) into the first bend and badly checked THAT'S KING, EMBEE DEE and OPAWA GIFT with this trio losing ground and their chances.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C2 Ht 2 - C2q - 520 Heat 2	BUBLIN GOLD (3) was tightened for a stride in the early stages. BOTANY COMET (4) angled inwards on the home turn checking GROOVY SHANE (5) for a stride. BUBLIN GOLD was held up for a run on the home turn switching wide and running home well.
Race 3	J P Print, Petone C2 Ht 3 - C2q - 520 Heat 3	SMILE FOR DADDY (2) and THRILLING DEAL (3) collided for a stride out of the boxes. SMILE FOR DADDY angled outwards into the first bend brushing with THRILLING DEAL for a stride. The pacemaking GONE AWOL (4) was inclined to run wide into the first bend losing ground. Handler Jonathan McInerney was questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner ANOTHER COURSE (1). He replied that the dog goes well at Hatrick and has recently been downgraded.
Race 4	Brad Canty Wanganui Cup Group 1 Ht 1 C5 - C5q - 520 Heat 1	FANCY TIP (2) and BIGTIME JET (3) brushed for a stride in the initial stages. In the run to the first bend FANCY TIP angled outwards marginally tightening BIGTIME JET. Wider out PHONE TAP (9) was tightened and lost a length. BOTANY PRANCER (1) was held up for clear racing room on the home turn.
Race 5	Brad Canty Wanganui Cup Group 1 Ht 2 C5 - C5q - 520 Heat 2	SPEED LEGEND (4) was awkwardly away and settled at the rear with KNOW ATTEMPT (6). EL JETTA (1) angled outwards into the first bend inconveniencing OPAWA SWEDE (5) and GORDON BALE (7) who both lost ground. HOMEBUSH VIOLET (3) was tightened by GORDON BALE into the back straight and lost ground. INDIANA IZMIR (2) checked off the back of the pacemaking FANCY JILL (8) at the end of the back straight with both runners losing momentum. OPAWA SWEDE shifted outwards on the home turn when looking to improve checking FANCY JILL and GORDON BALE.
Race 6	Brad Canty Wanganui Cup Group 1 Ht 3 C5 - C5q - 520 Heat 3	KNOW CHAOS (6) ran sharply inwards in the initial stages colliding with HYPOTENTIAL (4). Into the first bend PINK SOCK (1) ran outwards checking HYPOTENTIAL and MAMMY BROWN (7) with this pair losing ground. After the line ROQETTE (3) was dragged down and FANCY DASHER (8) fell with both dogs being referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 7	Brad Canty Wanganui Cup Group 1 Ht 4 C5 - C5q - 520 Heat 4	KNOW CLASS (3) and SUPERIOR IZMIR (6) were the last pair on jumping. RILEY'S MATE (5) crossed down in front of RAW ENERGY (2) in the run to the first bend with RAW ENERGY losing ground. RAW ENERGY then shifted outwards contacting OSTIS EXPERIENCE for a stride and dropping to the rear. KNOW CLASS was denied clear space until late in the home straight.
Race 8	Brad Canty Wanganui Cup Group 1 Ht 5 C5 - C5q - 520 Heat 5	SNOW PHOENIX (6) ran inwards in the early stages forcing PIGGY BACK (5) down the track. BIGTIME LATTE (3) was tightened for a stride early and lost ground.
Race 9	Wanganui Stayers Group 2 Final - C2df - 755	CHILL OUT RALPH (8) was last to jump. In the early stages OSTI'S PURSUIT (5) ran outwards pushing MR. CHINO (6) and BORNATO (7) wide on the track. Into the first bend the favourite THRILLING BRAT (1) and BUDDY BROKE (2) were both tightened as MR. CHINO crossed to the rail. On the home turn the first time CHILL OUT RALPH ran outwards forcing THRILLING BRAT and BUDDY BROKE very wide with this pair losing more ground. MR. CHINO and CHILL OUT RALPH both received slight checks on the home turn when racing in behind BORNATO. THRILLING BRAT made ground very late and wide to be close up. He was sent to the vet as a precaution and found to have minor pectoral muscle pain.
Race 10	Morrie Gibbons Signs C5 - C5 - 305	LIFE'S A DREAM (1) was last to jump. COSMIC FURY (7) ran inwards in the initial stages coming together with VISIONARY MAN (5) and losing ground. Into the bend UNO ALLEGRO (3) was badly checked and dragged down with VISIONARY MAN and ATE PIZZA (8) also being checked and COSMIC FURY being forced wide. On the home turn VISIONARY MAN ran outwards forcing ATE PIZZA over extra ground. Following the race ATE PIZZA was observed to be lame with this dog being sent to the vet for assessment.
Race 11	Palamountains Nutrition C5 - C5 - 305	PRINCELY DOLLAR (6) was a touch slow to jump. Into the bend HEY YOU (2) checked off the back of ROSEMORE OSTI (3) and took a spectacular fall with PRINCELY DOLLAR being inconvenienced in behind and CRYSTAL WAVE (4) checking wide to avoid the incident. CRYSTAL WAVE ran wide on the home turn losing ground. WILD PUNTING (8) checked off the back of AVERT on the turn losing a length. HEY YOU ran to the lure and was sent to the vet for assessment.
Race 12	Mickey's Super Liquor C5 - C5 - 305	JUST A BOY (2) was last to jump with OPAWA LEGS (1) and TIZ NOW (7) also settling well back. JUST A BOY received a severe check when running into the race into the bend and dropped to the rear. CHEETAH WOODS (3) was handy until the turn but ran very wide and lost his chance. This dog was referred to the vet for assessment.
