Weather: Overcast
Track: Dead With the heavy rain the region had received over the past 24 hours, the track held up well providing a safe surface for racing.
Scales: Correct at all weights.
Health and Safety comment: NIL

Judicial report: Trainers J & D Fahey were fined $50.00 as per the Minor Infringement table after failing to produce the registration papers for JINJA POWER, a starter in race 8.
Trainer K Walsh admitted a charge in accordance with Rule 80.1(a) after THRILLING BUTCHA marred the running line of WICKED SPELL in race 10. THRILLING BUTCHA has been stood down for 28-days and is to complete a satisfactory trial prior to resuming racing.
Due to several road closures, Trainers M Mann,B Littlejohn and M Black advised to Stewards that they would be late for the kenneling process.

Race 1 Palamountains Nutrition Stakes - C0 - 457 Racing into the bend, DIRECTOR VANCE shifted out into the line of the trailing LEROY JETHRO, which clipped DIRECTOR VANCE's heel and lost ground.
Race 2 Fond Foods Ltd Stakes - C1 - 457 TEMPERATE KING shifted down the track abruptly from the boxes causing crowding to SOUTH BAY DREAM, THRILLING CARTER, GOOD RETURN and DORO FOOT. THRILLING CARTER and GOOD RETURN received the majority of the tightening and lost ground. TEMPERATE KING continued to shift ground inward along the back straight and approaching the bend bumped with SOUTH BAY DREAM on several occasions with this dog being turned inward and losing its footing. SOUTH BAY DREAM was then further hampered when THRILLING CARTER shifted out. CUT ME OFF when leading into the bend, appeared to go off stride and lose the use of it's offside hind-leg. CUT ME OFF was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment.
Race 3 Affordable Pet Accessories Stakes - C2 - 457 ON THE LEVEL shifted out from the boxes forcing CAWBOURNE CRAZY into the line of HIT BOOST which was hampered, settling toward the rear of the field. ON THE LEVEL angled out rounding the bend checking JELLY GEM which went back through the field and hampered HIT BOOST.
Race 4 Garrards Horse and Hound Sprint - C5 - 375 SHORT AND SNAPPY shifted in from the boxes crowding NITRO LUIS for a short distance. SIR RICHIE from its wide draw angled in rounding the bend tightening NITRO LUIS which lost ground and settled toward the rear. SHORT AND SNAPPY was tightened shortly after and had to shift out to avoid the heels of SIR RICHIE which continued to angle in.
Race 5 Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Stakes - C3 - 457 BORASCO was slow to begin (3L). RITZA DANNY and BEAU RIVAGE bumped on two occasions approaching the bend with BEAU RIVAGE being checked shortly after between ZIPPING WILL and RITZA DANNY which shifted out. BEAU RIVAGE lost ground in the incident and was unable to recover from there on.
Race 6 Presland Tocker Insurance Services Distance - C1d - 650 RAMAH REASON after beginning fairly, lost contact with the field entering the back straight and finished a distant last. RAMAH REASON was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 7 Happy Birthday Charlston State Stakes - C4 - 457 FEEL THE VIBE angled inward shortly after the start, dictating EL JETTA down the track into the line of BOSS APPEAL and WALLACE LAD which were placed in restricted room for a distance. JINJA JAM was also buffeted in the incident when attempting to make a wide run. COAL SACK and FEEL THE VIBE bumped on two occasions entering the home straight.
Race 8 Teressa McDonald Cup - C2df - 747 LOCHINVAR BRANDO was briefly crowded on jumping away between JINJA POWER which shifted out and THRILLING LOGIC which shifted in. OPAWA TANIA bumped with COOL PURSUIT leaving the boxes. Shortly after COOL PURSUIT shifted in across the heels of OPAWA TANIA and in doing so contacted that dogs heels,stumbling and losing ground. THRILLING LOGIC when angling in rounding the first bend, checked JINJA POWER which went back through the field and momentarily hampered COOL PURSUIT.
Race 9 Harness Jewels @ The Clubhouse Sports Bar Sprint - C5f - 375 REAL VAIN and AUNTY MERL buffeted for several strides over the early stages. CALAMITY FREE when angling into the bend, dictated COTSWALD PRINCE into the line of PREDATOR DRONE which was tightened, losing ground. Shortly after PREDATOR DRONE was further hampered when several runners angled inward. PREDATOR DRONE was then obliged to make its run wide forcing REAL VAIN and AUNTY MERL over extra ground.
Race 10 Mike Stent Decorators NZ Derby - R/Af - 457 ZIPPING ORRICK and THRILLING BRAVE began only fairly settling at the rear of the field. BLITZING MAYHEM shifted in shortly after jumping away bumping with BOTANY JUNCTION which in turn bumped with ROBBIE. BLITZING MAYHEM was momentarily checked approaching the bend when WICKED SPELL angled in. THRILLING BRAVE ran extremely wide rounding the bend covering extra ground. THRILLING BRAVE was referred to the Veterinarian for assessment and cleared of injury. THRILLING BUTCHA turned it's head entering the home straight and marred the running of WICKED SPELL for one stride. Trainer K Walsh admitted a subsequent charge in accordance with Rule 80.1(a) with THRILLING BUTCHA being stood down for 28-days and is to complete a satisfactory trial prior to resuming racing.
Race 11 Jack Hannan Memorial Cup - INV - 457 GORDAN BALE was heavily bumped approaching the bend when racing between PINK BOUQUET and VALAIN'S FLYER which shifted out abruptly. GORDAN BALE became severely unbalanced as a result and was further hampered when going back onto GRADUATION which was also hampered losing ground.
Race 12 Cogswell Surveys Ltd Stakes - C5 - 457 BOTANY DOWNS shifted inward from the jump crowding ZAGATO in onto KIKI RHODE, BIGTIME DASHER and CHECK THE MAIL with all effected runners losing ground and settling toward the rear of the field. BOTANY DOWNS and ROTOVEGAS DOT buffeted for a distance along the back straight resulting in BOTANY DOWNS being turned inwards. When racing at the rear BIGTIME DASHER had to check out off the heels of CHECK THE MAIL which angled in rounding the bend. BOTANY DOWNS and THRILLING BLITZ raced in restricted room approaching the bend between ROTOVEGAS DOT which was attempting to angle wider and JANNIK which angled in. BOTANY DOWNS was dragged down briefly in the incident by ROTOVEGAS DOT and lost ground. CHECK THE MAIL which trailed was momentarily hampered. ROTOVEGAS DOT bumped with THRILLING BLITZ which in turn shifted out and bumped with KIKI RHODE.
Race 13 Non Tote C1 Sprint - Tier 2 - 375 LUCYLICIOUS was slow to begin, and from there on was unable to recover. Approching the first bend, BENGHAZI improved onto the back of COOL FOOT LUKE and clipped that runners, losing ground and effectively all chance in the event. COOL FOOT LUKE shifted out in search of clear racing and in doing so contacted the hindquarters of VERSATILE RICHIE.
