THRILLING ASTRO was then observed to move out on the last bend and attack ROCKING QUEEN pushing that runner very wide on the track. The Trainer W.J.Hodgson elected to admit a breach of Rule 322 (1) (a) and THRILLING ASTRO was stood down for one month and is required to Trial again before its next Tote start. SHONI'S LIGHT. BUSTER KEATON ran out and IRINKA MARY ran in from the start and as a result RAYNA REASON was checked back to last and never recovered. ANGELA SHIRAZ moved in on the first corner and caused tightening to BRON ROMA and SARKAMORE. ANGELA SHIRAZ was then galloped on by TIPPED TOP and they both dropped back to the rear and never recovered. |

| Race 8 | COPY EXPRESS - PETONE - C2/3 - 525 | RAFFERTY REASON was scratched due to a webbing injury. GOZO LINA was scratched Ex Wanganui on 25.05.04. The favourite RADFORD REASON was checked on the first corner, dropped back quickly and SMART TIP was also checked as a result. They never recovered and finished well back. RAFFERTY REASON. | Race 9 | NZ FUTURITY - FINAL - R/Af - 525 | THRILLING SAM began awkwardly and was off balance and last into the first corner. He then made ground throughout the race and went on to win nicely. BANKSIDE BRAT led early and then moved in at the end of the back straight and checked TIME SQUAD and IDOL APPEAL. Soon after, USER FRIENDLY galloped onto BANKSIDE BRAT causing that runner to drop back quickly to the rear. BANKSIDE BRAT was checked by the vet and stood down for 5 days with sore shoulders. Seconds before the start was made, a Trackside cameraman leant over the rail in front of the boxes to get a close shot of the start. This may have affected the concentration of the dogs, particularly IDOL APPEAL who had drawn Box 8 and is usually away quickly but was last away on this occasion. The Trackside supervisor was advised to instruct his staff that this action was unacceptable and should not occur again. BANKSIDE BRAT. Trainer Adcock / Hopping. Rule 329. Suffered from a slight soreness in the shoulders and stood down for 5 days to and including 01.06.04. |
