Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer J.T.McInerney, through his representative S.McInerney, was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 88.1 a for breaches of Rules 64.2 and 64.5 when failing to present IN TOMS MEMORY who had re entered the field from the reserves.

Race 1 CESARINA SCOTT-MARSON MEMORIAL - C0df - 645 The Club Secretary advised the Stewards that she had received a phone message prior to scratching time but that the call was indecipherable and could have been a scratching. During kennelling S.McInerney advised the Stewards that his father J.T.McInerney had phoned the Club to advise that AWESOME FLASH was to be scratched as the dog raced at Southland the previous day, had then been travelling back to meet the vehicle travelling to Wanganui but had failed to arrive in time due to a breakdown. AWESOME FLASH was then declared a late scratching. Some further inquiries are to be made into this matter. The race was all clear. Race 2 VALLEY PARKING SERVICES - C1 - 520 TIGER INDY WOODS moved in on the first corner and checked LOTTO BALLS who lost 5 lengths but was observed to be making up ground in the straight and finished in 5th place. THRILLING ELROY was checked entering the back straight and again going into the final bend and he finished well back in 2nd last place. MOST EXCUSED B.Cole Rule 64.14 Suffering from hind leg muscle soreness and Vet certificate not presented by the required time and stood down for 28 days to and including 10.06.08.
Race 3 TIPPY'S www.greyhoundtips.co.nz - C2 - 520 JETLINE was checked on the first corner and went back to last. JETLINE made up some ground and finished in 5th place. PECCARI made contact with the running rail during the race and was observed to be uncomfortable at the finish, he was sent for a veterinary examination and was found to have an injury requiring a five days stand down. PECCARI P A Taylor bruising to a shoulder . Rule 82.1. 5 days stand down to and including 20.05.08.
Race 4 OPAWA RACING LIMITED - C5 - 520 KINGS CONQUEST ran in sharply from the start and bumped JONNY MARCO who settled in last place but recovered well to run on for 2nd place. JIMMY HALL Gained a start in Race 10 IN TOM'S MEMORY J.T.McInerney Rule 64.5 Not presented after entering the field from the reserves and stood down for 28 days to and including 12.06.08. Papers to be endorsed. LYRICAL BALE A.Roberts Rule 63.10 Distance from track rule. No penalty.
Race 5 BLACK ALLEGRO MEMORIAL FINAL - C5f - 305 LISA SHIRAZ began very awkwardly losing several lengths and he finished in last place.
Race 6 BRANDON ST. TAB - WGTON - NZ FUTURITY FINAL - R/Af - 520 MCCRACKEN and TURBINE BALE bumped together soon after the start and settled near the rear. GENISTA BRAVE was checked on the first bend and soon after TURBINE BALE was also checked and they both lost ground and finished well back. SCOTT NO TRACK checked over the heels of PORCELAIN GIRL on the final bend, ran a little wide and finished in last place.
Race 7 EMPIRE HOTEL - PALMERSTON NORTH - C3f - 520 Following race 6 the Stewards were advised that the lure wire was stretched and had frayed and temporary repairs were carried out. The Stewards requested that a new wire be installed following the race and this was carried out, the lure was tested and the race started on time. The wire rope was new and had only been used for the last three meetings but was obviously of poor quality. The race was all clear.
Race 8 WELLINGTON COMMITTEE DISTANCE - C1/2d - 645 GROOVY SHOT and OWNEY JOE TARR were checked back to the rear soon after the start. ROMAN HOME and GROOVY AGAIN bumped together for a few strides on the first turn and lost momentum.
Race 9 BRANDON ST. TAB - WGTON - NZ FUTURITY CONSOLATION - R/A - 520 AUSSIE OPAWA moved out on the first corner and checked CYBER BLUE and DADDY who both lost ground.
Race 10 EXCHANGE HOTEL - LOWER HUTT - C4f - 520 FUN AND PROFIT was checked starting the final bend and lost 4 lengths and finished in last place. THRILLING SNOW O.Marron Rule 64 Suffering from ruptured toe ligaments and stood down for 21 days to and including 05.06.08. FRENCH INVADER A.Roberts Rule 63.10 Distance from track rule. No penalty.
