Judicial report: Weather: Showery General Manager Mr R. Death was fined $150.00 after he admitted a breach of Rule 88.1.q. after omitting to scratch STAND OUT MATT before the scratching time of 7.30am due to not clearing a phone message. This denied a reserve runner a start.
Handler Willy Hodgson received a first and final warning under Rule 71.2 after being late to retrieve his dog for Race 5.
Trainer K Walsh was warned for being late to retrieve her dog for Race 10.

Race 1 CATCH RESTAURANT SPRINT - C4 - 318 ALL ABOUT DOSH was checked as kennelmate GUNNADOO KNIGHT crossed it from an outside draw. ALL ABOUT DOSH dropped out to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing a left hock sprain with a thirty day stand down recommended. FANCY SPIDER checked outwards off SYDENHAM SMITH into the bend when looking to find racing room. CLASSIC BEN (SP Clark) recovering from diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 2 days up to and including 5 March 2009. ALL ABOUT DOSH (Freeman/Turnwald) left hock sprain. Rule 82.1. 30 days up to and including 5 April 2009.
Race 2 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS STAKES - C2/3 - 527 WRONG IDENTITY was tightened soon after the jump. CONTINUE lost a length in the back straight when racing in between runners while on the home turn BIG NIGHT IN was tightened and dropped to the rear.
Race 3 TROPHIES PLUS SPRINT - C5 - 318 TRIAL BAY was the last to jump but ran on late for fourth. Into the bend BEACH STREET was tightened for room and relegated to the rear where she stayed. ONIE'S LAD (DD Schofield) right fibular knock to old callous. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 12 March 2009. ENSIGN (GB Darcy) club scratching . No penalty.
Race 4 PELORUS TRUST STAYERS CUP - C2d - 603 GINA ROSA was squeezed in the short run to the first bend and dropped to the rear where she stayed. THANK YOU JIM ran wide on the back straight and lost a couple of lengths. Following the race BROCKMAN LAD was given a seven day stand down from a spike wound. STAND OUT MATT (NP Green) left biceps femoris muscle injury. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 11 March 2009. (Note that this scratching was not notified to the TAB until 5pm - see Judicial) BROCKMAN LAD (BRD Cole) spike wound. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 11 March 2009.
Race 5 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST RAILWAY CONSOLATION - C5 - 318 FLYING CHAMELEON appeared to come together with ALLEGRO VISION into the bend and lost a length with resultant checks to PIZZA GIRL and CAWBOURNE CATHY who both lost ground. There was no head on view available for this race.
Race 6 PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) AUCKLAND CUP CONSOLATION - C5 - 527 SHE'S TOO COOL, ATLANTIC BALE and YOUNG DADDY were all tightened as JOHNNY MIDNIGHT headed to the inside in the run to the first bend and they all settled back.
Race 7 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST RAILWAY SPRINT - C5 - 318 TALIESIN BLUE proved difficult to box in this event. The race was all clear.
Race 8 CAROL'S TABS STAKES - C4/5 - 527 The programme was put back for one race due to a power cut that plunged the course into darkness. BUZZ CAFÉ and BOTANY JIM were both slow to jump. On the first bend WILL SHE ECHO and SENSATIVE HARRY came together. SENSATIVE HARRY then ran to the rail which checked PINK RELTUB who in turn ran outwards on to BUZZ CAFÉ with these three dogs all losing ground. ANOTHER LLOYD (JT McInerney) flexor tendonitis. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 15 March 2009.
Race 9 PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) AUCKLAND CUP - C5 - 527 TURBINE BALE was last to jump making up good ground for third. WINSOME MERC checked outwards off APPOINTED THYME with RIDDLE MAN receiving some backwash as a result.
Race 10 THE ALAMO BAR & TAB SPRINT - C5 - 318 A combination of SET IN STONE running outwards and RONRAY DISCO heading to the rail meant that MANADOU and ANOTHER BAXTER were both tightened in the early stages. SET IN STONE received another check soon after and dropped out to finish last.
