Wanganui Straight Track Racing Dates Update

Hi everyone,

Following yesterday’s GRNZ Board meeting, we can confirm:

- After the Monday 5 August Wanganui Straight Track race meeting, we will look to hold fortnightly race meetings there in the weeks commencing 19 August and 2 September. The days of the week that the race meetings are held during those weeks are currently TBC and are subject to what works for Entain/TAB from a servicing perspective, given we are introducing new licences.

- There is planned remedial work for Manawatu Raceway in mid-late September (exact dates TBC). While Manawatu is closed, a Wanganui Straight Track meeting will take place on Tuesdays (weekly) to replace the Palmerston North licences.

- After Manawatu reopens, nothing has been confirmed at this stage, aside from the principle of a fortnightly race meeting at the Wanganui Straight Track. GRNZ will work through all options carefully with all clubs around what works best from a racing calendar perspective, and we will also consult with the RIB and Entain/TAB around what works best for them from a servicing perspective.

We will keep everyone updated with further information in the coming weeks.
