Weather: CloudyTrack: Dead The lure broke down in race three ,a replacement lure was used there after throughout the meeting The club will attend to the fault with the lure that is beleived to be electrical

Health and Safety comment:
Judicial report: TOP CAT (G Calverley) had his papers endorsed under rule 80.7 as he has completed 10 clear runs after being stood down previously under Rule 80.1b
Race 3 on todays card was decleared a No Race after the lure broke down midway through the race this was due to an electrical problem with the lure
A replacement lure was put on and tested with no more problems through out the meeting
No time was lost through this incident with race 4 being started on time
The dogs had raced over more than half the distance of the race when it occured and the dogs were showing signs of distress with the majority of the trainers not wanting a restart ,The Stewards felt that in the interests of animal welfare that the race be decleared a no race
An inquiry was opened and adjourned in to the start of race 11 when the handler of THRILLING RUST had trouble getting the door down and the starter had put the green light on with the lure on its way
The stewards reviewed a replay of the start and it was deterimined that no dogs were affected in this incident and the all clear was given to pay out on the race

Race 1 | Reel-Fishin.com Sprint - C2 - 318 | Racing down to the first turn there was tightning and jostling between HIT DA NOS TEN FOUR and BEARLY POSSIBLE with TEN FOUR being squeezed back to the rear these three dogs could not recover the lost ground where they filled the last 3 placings at the line BEARLY POSSIBLE was noticed to have a spike wound on right hind toe at the pull up and was sent for a vet check with no stand down imposed |
Race 2 | Auckland Vending Sprint - C0 - 318 | From the start STAR BOUND came across and collided with KARLA LEWINSKY who went over on to TWIN RIVERS (fav) with these two dogs going out wide around the top bend TWIN RIVERS went back towards the rear and was not able to get back in to contention from there on in BON VOUGE was a late scratching at pre race presentation when found to be suffering from left wrist pain with a 14 day stand down recommended |
Race 3 | www.agrc.co.nz Sprint - C1 - 318 | The lure broke down on thre point of the top bend The field quickly caught the lure and pushed it some way with dogs being pushed around The stewards declared a no race after the majority of the handlers felt it would be detrimental to the dogs wefare to have a re run In the interests of dog welfare the Stewards ordered all runners from this race undergo a vet check as there were several runners with injuries DUNN ROBIN YOU was found to have suffered right hind hock injury to be reassesed with grazes and cuts with a 7 day stand down recommended at this point PUNK PORTSEA was found to have suffered a right hock strain with a 10 day stand down recommended SPARTACUS was found to have suffered skin grazes and small cuts with a 7 day stand down recommended TODD and ONE WILD THING had left the course before they could be vetted the trainer Mrs Mann will be spoken to in regards to this BEING FRANK, PRIMED TO DASH and STILL NO WIVES were vetted with no abnormalities found |
Race 4 | Ranvet 'K-Max' Stakes - C1 - 527 | As the field left the boxes LOCHINVAR LAREDO ran in and collided with ALABASTER and kept the pressure on him until they raced in to the first turn |
Race 5 | Trophies Plus Sprint - C5 - 318 | LENNONVILLE was the slowest away from the start by a couple of lengths ,he raced wide in to and around the top bend covering a lot of extra ground Not far from the finish the winner RIPPED JEANS ran in on TERRY STANLEY for a stride with these dogs becoming slightly unbalanced for a stride or so |
Race 6 | Auckland Co-op Taxis Sprint - C3 - 318 | Racing in to the home turn CAPTAIN RICHIE who had been handy throughout was checked as he ran on to the back of CAWBOURNE STEFFI as he attempted to gain clear racing room when looking to be full of running CAPTAIN RICHIE lost his momentum going back to the rear finishing in last position at the line |
Race 7 | $50,000 Terminating Pick6 Sprint - C5 - 318 | On the home turn WINSOME ACHEIVER came in and bumped COLLISION RISK with this dog losing a stride soon after KISSIN KATE, COLLISION RISK and WINSOME ACHEIVER raced tightly together down to the line There were initial concerns that COLLISION RISK may have turned his head towards KISSIN KATE but after reviewing the film it was clear to the stewards that this was not the case BAD STATE raced in the rear and was observed to be uncomfortable in his galloping action throughout the journey he was sent for a vet check and was found to be suffering from a right hock strain with a 28 day stand down recommended |
Race 8 | Sel's TAB Mangere Stakes - C2 - 527 | In the race down to thew first turn THRILLING APRIL tried to come out off the rail this resulted in HAIR HE IS, BE DELICIOUS being tightened and checked as HUSTLER came across looking for the rail with these dogs all being hampered at this point |
Race 9 | Varvatos at Stud Stakes - C2/3 - 527 | THRILLING MARCH jumped away with the field then was soon observed to be uncomfortable in his action ,he raced in the rear throughout there after finishing some lengths in the rear at the line THRILLING MARCH was sent for a vet check where he was found to have suffered a left gracilus tear with a 42 day stand down recommended |
Race 10 | Carol's TABS Stakes - C4/5 - 527 | KILAR'S FANCY was a late scratching at pre race presentation when found to be showing signs of being in season ,this was confirmed by the vet with a 28 day stand down inmposed All clear |
Race 11 | NZ Racing Series Sprint Final - NZRSf - 318 | GLOW BELLE DOLL, THRILLING SIGHT and THRILLING RUST came together and jostled for a few strides as the field raced in to the first turn with these dogs losing a couple of lengths at that point Prior to boxes opening it was nobserved that the handler of THRILLING RUST was attempting to close the lid on the box properly as she had trouble closing it, the starter stepped in and held the lid whilst the lure was on its way with the green light having been switched on before the lid had been closed properly The Stewards reviewed the start and are of the opinion that no dogs where disadvantaged by this and the all clear was given to pay out The handler and starter were spoken to regarding these actions and the Stewards have opened and adjourned an inquiry in to the matter |
Race 12 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C4 - 318 | BIG LASS was the slowest away losing a cou[ple of lengths, she raced wide across the top bend ,but made ground in the home straight to beat a couple of runners to the line On the home turn RHODA HOLMES and ASTON RED came together and bumped for a stride |
