Judicial report: The lure driver Erena Koroheke was spoken to advisadley by the Stewards after the running of race 7 concerning the length of the lure in to the bend
Erena Kereoke was most apologetic and due to her exemplery lure driving record no further action was taken on this occassion

Race 1 | All Sew Embroidery Sprint - C0 - 375 | FORECASTER stood in the boxes and was last away by a margin again today ,he made up good ground in the latter stages to finish in 5th placing at the line BRIANS IDOL was checked back soon after the start when HAIR SHE IS crossed over with BRIANS IDOL going back to the rear by several lengths and raced in that position until late in the race where he passed one other runner close to the line Racing in to the first turn LOVIN' THE ALIEN crossed to the rail from wide out and ran in on to AKKADIAN causing this dog to go back losing 3 or so lengths at that stage |
Race 2 | Te Awamutu Self Storage Sprint - C1 - 375 | Racing down in to the first turn there was tightning and jostling as COLERIDGE AINSLI came down across on to THRILLING CHARGE, TEN FOUR, LLAMEDOS and RHYME IN MELODY with these runners all coming together for a couple of strides losing 3 or fourth lengths at that point TIGERS IDOLraced towards the rear throughout after being held up momenterily in to the first bend and was observed to be not striding out comfortably down the home straight TIGERS IDOL was sent for a vet check where no abnormalities were found. |
Race 3 | Varvatos @ Stud Stakes - C2/3 - 457 | Racing in to the first turn SHELLY SHELBY was forced to check back off the heels of RUN FOR US and change groud outwards as a result ,she was able to recover well to finish strongly in the straight to grab CASH KNOCKA just short of the post and win narrowly Racing across the top bend FANCY STEP had to check back off the heels of KARMA RHODE as this runner shifted ground in to the racing line of FANCY STEP |
Race 4 | Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Sprint - C1 - 375 | From the boxes KEZZ tried to race across towards the rail causing severe crowding to DECLARATION PERCENTAGE MAN, IMAGINATION and THRILLING KITE ,with PERCENTAGE MAN being able to cut back out straight across heels to the rail with DECLARATION being stopped in her tracks almost going back to the rear by several lengths DECLARATION attempted to make up ground thereafter but was forced to race the widest around the top bend and in to the home straight covering a fair amount of extra ground in the running |
Race 5 | Matangi Distance - C1d - 650 | From the boxes, CAFE CHIC came across causing COLD FINGERS to be checked back a length or so. Racing into the first bend ASCENDING FORCE came across onto COLD FINGERS with GLORIANNA being checked as a result going back three or four lengths. GLORIANNA raced wide around the first bend. LADY MARIANNE was also inconvenienced in this incedent and went back to the rear with GLORIANNA, and they were never in contention from there, finishing in the last two placings across the line. |
Race 6 | Garrards Horse and Hound Sprint - C5 - 375 | BENGINEER was a late scratching on veterinary advice when he was found to have collappsed in his kennel just prior to race 3. He was removed for veterinary care where he was found to be suffering symptons of dehydration and acidosis ,with treatment being given and the dog showing good signs of recovery. LOCHINVAR YASI was the slowest into stride losing a length as a result. Running into the first bend, LOCHINVAR YASI had to steady across the heels of FANCY MILLY and improved wider onto the track as a result. |
Race 7 | 0800 4 Down Cow Sprint - C3 - 375 | The Stewards reviewed the length of the lure across the top bend with concerns for the length it was running in front(fav andfter reviewing the film the Stewards cleared the race for payout The lure driver was spoken to (refer judicial) GRIZZ (fav) dwelt slightly at the start by a length or so ,THANKS MERCEDES was checked one stride out of the boxes as FIGIAN SAM raced across him with THANKS MERCEDES losing ground back to the rear GRIZZ recovered to run on well for 2nd placing at the line REGAL TENT was handy in the early running ,racing across the top bend he went amiss going back to the rear by several lengths and finished a distance last at the line and was sent for a vet check and was found to have bruising / tear to left gracilus muscle with a 21 day stand down recommended PROVERBIAL was racing in a handy position nearing the home turn when GRIZZ ran on to her heels causing her to become unbalanced for a stride or two and go back through the field towards the rear PROVERBIAL was sent for a vet check as a precaution where no abnormalities were found |
Race 8 | Fond Foods LTD Stakes - C4 - 457 | WINSOME FLASH was handy in the early running ,he went back through the field as they raced across the top bend finishing in the rear at the line WINSOME FLASH was sent for a vet check and was found to have mild strain of right triceps muscle with a 10 day stand down recommended In the run towards the line MARK'S PET was coming to the end of his run and soon after passing the post was checked and stumbled as INDEED UNIQUE raced passed and ran inwards towards the lure |
Race 9 | YGOT Bonus Scheme Sprint - C2 - 375 | From the boxes TAKE THE MICK raced across the face of the field causing tightning and checks to TEAM JACOB, AGENT VICTOR, ROTOVEGAS GIRL VIBURNUM and DOWNEY who was bumped by TAKE THE MICK when going to the lead TAKE THE MICK and DOWNEY were able to get a couple of lengths on the field at this point and were the first two runners to the line Racing in to the first turn TEAM JACOB was attempting to make ground as CRAFTY GRAHAM raced past with TEAM JACOB going back on to AGENT VICTOR who ran outwards to avoid running up on to the back of TEAM JACOB resulting in these two runners colliding running outwards taking THRILLING CHILL on their outer wide in to the top bend all losing ground at this point |
Race 10 | Clubhouse Sports Bar Sprint - C3/4 - 375 | ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and PROVEN SHELLY were the slowest away from the start with PROVEN SHELLY going down on her hauches at this point losing 5 or so lengths PROVEN SHELLY attempted to make ground on the rail across the top bend ,she was held up on the home turn and ran on in the straight tio finish in midfield Racing in to the first bend WISOME BUSTER was checked back a couple of lengths as ONE TOUGH COOKIE crossed him towards the rail ENOUGH IS ENOUGH after being slow away made ground around the field througout the running to run past the leaders to win |
Race 11 | Kirstie McGrail @ Harcourts Stakes - C5 - 457 | Soon after the start there was movment in the midfield as runners vyied for positions with THRILLING RUST ,OLLI FONZ and SWIFT SWINGER coming together and jostling for a few strides |
