Judicial report: Stewards opened an investigation into the late presentation on course of OCHY in Race 4 today.

Race 1 | Super Pets Sprint - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH PIPPI (5) took some time to leave the boxes. Films showed the dog to have lost its footing in it's box causing it to lose its chance. From this point onwards HOMEBUSH PIPPI raced in arrears of the body of the field. Taking into this being the dogs first race Stewards advised the connections that a warning had been placed had it's racing performance. RED HOT FURY (1), HERMIONE BAXTER (3), MONACO DENVER (4) and OHOKA FAITH (8) were all slow to begin. RED HOT FURY, HOMEBUSH SAXON (6) and ROSE BOW (7) came together racing into the bend resulting in ROSE BOW and HOMEBUSH SAXON losing their racing position and some ground. In an attempt to avoid the checked HOMEBUSH SAXON, HERMIONE BAXTER shifted outwards impeding MONACO DENVER. |
Race 2 | Pretty Good At Stud Dash - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH HAVEN (6) was slow to begin. ANGELIC STAR (3) stumbled shortly after the start. WALDO BAXTER (4) was buffeted between CASTLE EDEN (9) and ANGELIC STAR in the early stages. MULBERRY MACRO (2), which was inclined to shift up the track, ran outwards on the bend and caused considerable interference to SMOOCHY JEWEL (1) WALDO BAXTER, TOKEN STU (8), CASTLE EDEN (9) and HOMEBUSH HAVEN |
Race 3 | Hampden Tavern Stakes - C0 - 520 | This race was delayed two minutes due to a false start at the Invercargill HRC. DOLEUZE (3) shifted down the track shortly after the start and caused a slight check to OPAWA LAUREN (2). TRUMPED UP (1), HOMEBUSH TITAN (7) and KNOW RIGHTS (8) were all slow in the early stages. ARCHIE'S INDY (6) shifted down onto FLIP FLIPPA (5) racing towards the first bend and received a check causing it to lose ground and hamper the trailing HOMEBUSH TITAN (7) and KNOW RIGHTS (8). When questioned with regards to the improved performance of winner DOLEUZE, Trainer J Dunn explained the dog had been unlucky in its races since falling three starts ago. Mr Dunn further advised the dog had worked very well in the interim and he was confident of a forwards showing. |
Race 4 | racingdogs.co.nz Sprint - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH KIZZY (4) stood as the lids were raised and lost considerable ground. Taking into account this being the dogs first starts Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of this dogs racing performance. OHOKA JOKA (6) was very slow to jump. UNO NOSEY (5) and GLADYS EMMANUEL (2) bumped heavily in the early stages. MAX STEEL (1) shifted outwards racing into the turn and caused slight checks to UNO NOSEY and MITCHELL DEAN (9) |
Race 5 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C2 - 295 | Both BANK ROLLER (4) and NEW YORK AFFAIR (2) were slow in the early stages. These dogs then jostled in the run to the first bend. Leaving the first straight MULBERRY BROOK (5) and TEAM DREAM (1) jostled for a position. Leaving the final turn SMASH DORA (6) lay inwards which hampered the running of TEAM DREAM. |
Race 6 | Amber Cleaning Services Stakes - C0 - 520 | JUNIOR CLEEVE (7) was slightly slow to begin. CAWBOURNE TIP (2) and FINANACE TOMMO (3) were buffeted for some distance between MAGIC EMILY (1) and TOKEN RAY (4) CAWBOURNE TIP shifted outwards abruptly racing into the first turn checking both FINANCE TOMMO and LOUISAS GIRL (5). CAWBOURNE TIP was held up by the tiring FINANCE TOMMO on the final bend TOKEN RAY was sent for a post race Veterinary examination after compounding inside the final 100 metres. This revealed no abnormalities. |
Race 7 | Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH PEPPER (1) shifted out leaving the first straight and caused tightening to both CEDRIC BAXTER (4) and TEPIRITA SNOOP (5) which were crowded out of their racing positions. On the turn after being crossed by CEDRIC BAXTER, HOMEBUSH PEPPER leapt into the air and lost ground. |
Race 8 | Barron's Supplies Sprint - C2 - 295 | WANDY DESTINY (5) and GLENN IS GOODESY (8) were slightly slow over the initial part of the race. FIREMANS LEGACY shifted down the track in the early stages causing CHOCDEE ALICE (4), PHAT PANTS (3), CAWBOURNE PORSHE (2) and RITE ROUND RANGE (1) to race in restricted room. Shortly after this CHOCDEE ALICE ran outwards and collided with FIERY FLOWER (7). RITE ROUND RANGE and PHAT PANTS continued to jostle into the bend with PHAT PANTS losing ground in consequence. |
Race 9 | The Miller Bar & Cafe Stakes - C2 - 520 | This race was delayed two minutes at the request of the TAB. There was then a further delay when ducks had to be cleared from the track. GIRL RACER (3) lost ground when checked between LAUDABLE (1) and THRILLING SOUND (6) in the first straight. MR JIMMY (2) shifted outwards marginally racing into the first turn with the trailing ROBS MATE (4) becoming awkwardly placed in close proximity it's hind legs. As a result of this MR JIMMY had it's progress hampered with ROB'S MATE, OPAWA BRO (7), PUKEKO PROWLER (8) and CAWBOURNE KESHA (9) all being checked and losing ground. |
Race 10 | C.T.V. Sprint - C2 - 295 | This race was delayed two minutes at the request of the TAB. MILDRED LILLIAN (4) was slow to begin CAWBOURNE CRAZY shifted out leaving the back straight and contacted COALPIT MICK (5) resulting in CAWBOURNE CRAZY being turned sideways across all trailing runners and losing momentum. In consequence to this SMASH RUMOUR (2), HAZZA'S GOT SWAG (3) and COALPIT MICK all fell heavily to the track. CAWBOURNE CRAZY and SARAH'S DOMAIN (8) received minor interference also. Post race veterinary examinations of SMASH RUMOUR, HAZZA'S GOT SWAG and COALPIT MICK cleared all dogs of any injury. |
Race 11 | Flair Dash - C2 - 295 | BLICKLING BRIDGE (1) and CEC DEVINE (6) were slow to begin. JACK'S A JEWEL (3) and CEC DEVINE came together on the first part of the bend. SILVIA SUE (5) ran wide on the bend taking BLICKLING BRIDGE and JACK'S A JEWEL (3) wider. |
Race 12 | Speight's Stakes - C2 - 520 | GIRL PRIDE (2) was slow to begin. KNOW TASTE (4) and KAINO (5) were buffeted in restricted room in the opening straight between OPAWA NATTY (1) and STARBURST BENNY (6) which resulted in KNOW TASTE, KAINO and OPAWA NATTY all losing ground. STARBURST BENNY (6) was dragged down on the home turn when weakening and was sent to be examined by the Veterinarian. The Veterinary Surgeon found lacerations consistent with being contacted by another runner however no stand down was considered necessary. |
