HARSESIS (9/2) ran inwards into the bend causing OPAWA CRUSADE (1) to be tightened and lose ground. GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (4) lost ground on the bend when racing in restricted quarters. OPAWA CRUSADE was checked on the bend after BOUND TO ERUPT (5) crossed to the rail. |
| Race 2 | David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C4 - 295 | SPEEDY RETURN (1) came up with the lids and settled a clear last. GOLD VIPA (5) was badly checked into the bend after CATHY MAREE (6) had crossed from its outside with GOLD VIPA losing its chance. GOLD VIPA was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. OM NOM NOM (7) was inconvenienced in this incident. Soon after MAUDIE'S BABE (4) was tightened and ran outwards colliding with CATHY MAREE with this pair losing their chances. |

CAR BOOTLE (4) ran outwards into the bend checking WOOLY WHATSIT (6) which dropped to last as a result. Soon after GOLDSTAR BOMBER (8) ran inwards checking JACKPOT JAKE (3) with this runner stumbling and losing ground. CAR BOOTLE ran outwards on the home turn. WOOLY WHATSIT ran wide in the home straight. |
| Race 4 | Garden City Chem Dry Sprint - C4 - 295 | ROYAL BASH (2) was last to jump. NEW THANG (8) crossed quickly inwards in the early stages causing tightening to GRAND APACHE (7), JINJA BILLY (5) and AIR EXPRESS (4) with ROYAL BASH being forced down the track in consequence. ROYAL BASH appeared to brush the rail and lose ground in this incident with this dog being referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |

OPAWA TRACY (9/2) ran outwards into the first bend forcing NINA BAXTER (8) wider on the track. ESTER ACTION raced wide around the first bend. |

ROADWORKS ran outwards on the home turn pushing NORMAN JEWEL (7) wider on the track. CAMSIDE GOLD was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have wrist and hock soreness with a 10 day stand down recommended. |

OPAWA BUCKS EYE (5) was tightened into the first bend and lost ground with the trailing WILLIS inconvenienced. GOLDSTAR AVERY (6) ran outwards on the first bend checking SHANDELL (8) with KNOW WORTH forced very wide in consequence. SHANDELL was again hampered on the second bend as WILLIS shifted outwards. KNOW WORTH raced wide in the middle stages. OPAWA BUCKS EYE raced wide in the back straight on the final occasion. |
| Race 10 | 2016 Barron's Supplies South Island Championship - C5f - 520 | DIRK THE JERK (6) and BERRIDALE LAD (8) were the last pair on settling. EBERT BALE (1) was tightened at the end of the back straight and lost ground with the trailing DYNA VIKKERS (2) held up and losing momentum. KAVA BLU (7) was tightened between BERRIDALE LAD and LUMINARY (5) on the home turn losing ground. DYNA VIKKERS ran outwards and checked KAVA BLU when looking for room on the home turn. |

At the end of the back straight SWIMMING GOAT (1) shifted outwards pushing GET READY FREDDY (3) and KIHAEL KALUNA (4) up the track with GET READY FREDDY becoming unbalanced and losing ground. GET READY FREDDY was referred to the vet for assessment with no abnormality detected. |

DYNA QUIRK again shifted up the track into the bend pushing FLIBERTY JIBERTY, SMASH RUMOUR and RAND (7) wider. SOLSTICE (4) was tightened on the bend and lost ground with this bitch being referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. MANDI MAE (5) was tightened on the turn and then ran wide losing ground. |
