Judicial report: This meeting was closed to public due to Government restrictions surrounding Covid - 19 and was run under Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid - 19 protocols for Level 2.

Supplementary Report:

Christchurch GRC - 28th August 2020 - Race 3 Garrard's Horse & Hound Stakes.

Trainer M Grant has reported to Stewards that STYLISH STEPPER had pulled up lame in a hock subsequent to this race.

Endorsements:

1). HOMEBUSH GAMBLER (J McInerney) - application made to have the endorsement under Rule 55 cancelled after completing in 10 clear races.

2). PUNTERS DELIGHT ( R Wales) - application made to have this greyhound re examined after being stood down for 14 days after being a fill in for a satisfactory trial on the 27th August 2020. This greyhound was found to be free of injury and the stand down rescinded.

3). RIEKO (A Botherway) - placed on the Box First list.

Checked and lost momentum exiting the first bend. OPAWA MARGARET (5) - jostled briefly with ADOBE JUNIOR first bend. LUCKY LUCIANO (6) - slow away before colliding with GOLDSTAR JOURNEY. Coursed wide in the run to the first bend. GOLDSTAR JOURNEY (7) - slow away before being contacted from the inside by LUCKY LUCIANO. Checked off this runners heels in the run to the first bend. PRINCESS ROMAINE (9/8) - hampered first bend.
Race 2	Culvie Boy's Syndicate Stakes - C0 - 520	DIAMOND CRUSADE (3) - climbed on the heels of NIGHTHAWKE FANCY entering the first bend. NIGHTHAWK FANCY (4) - heels clipped entering the first bend. OTHELLO ADOBE (5) - slow early. MY MERIT (6) - checked when racing to the outside of OPAWA STUCK entering the first bend. OPAWA STUCK (7) - squeezed for racing room entering the first bend losing ground. Checked off heels rounding the first bend.
Race 3	mayhounds.org.nz Rehoming Group Sprint - C0 - 295	HOMEBUSH MACHO - underwent a post kenneling Veterinary examination and was cleared to race. MY BENTLEY (1) - placed in tight quarters entering the bend having to check and lose ground. HOMEBUSH MACHO (3) - placed in restricted room prior to the bend. MISS CAIRO (6) - checked and lost ground rounding the bend.
Race 4	Islington Tavern Stakes - C0 - 520	OPAWA ROD (2) - jostled with outside runner in the run to the first bend. Checked by the falling IT'S A SORT entering the bend falling to the track itself. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for the mandatory 5 days. DUKE OF ARGYLL (3) - inconvenienced by falling runners first bend losing ground. GRITTY (4) - contacted from the inside on jumping. Hampered for a distance in the run to the first bend. Jostled with OPAWA COOPER first bend. OPAWA COOPER (5) - slow early. Jostled with GRITTY first bend. OPAWA TWIRL (6) - shifted down the track abruptly on jumping colliding with GRITTY. Inconvenienced by falling runners first bend losing ground. IT'S A SORT (7) - clipped the heels of NIGHTHAWKE THORN prior to the first bend falling to the track as a consequence. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a hip injury. Was transported to the local Veterinary Clinic where it was diagnosed to have a dislocated hip with this being corrected. CAPTAIN TIM (8) - slow early. Terminally checked by the falling NIGHTHAWKE THORN and OPAWA ROD entering the bend.
Race 5	Garrard's Horse And Hound Dash - C0 - 295	HUTIWAI (1) - hind quarters contacted entering the first bend. Jostled with HOMEBUSH HERO exiting the bend. Checked from behind prior to the finish line. HOMEBUSH MAPLE (4) - raced on the hind quarters of HUTIWAI entering the first bend losing ground. TROUBLESOME MASE (5) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the first bend. Checked off heels rounding the bend dictating HOMEBUSH HERO up the track. Clipped the heels of HUTIWAI prior to the finish line. Proved extremely difficult to catch post race. HOMEBUSH HERO (6) - awkwardly positioned to the outside of TROUBLESOME MASE rounding the bend. Jostled with HUTIWAI exiting the bend. SEA SPRAY NOVA (7) - forced wide rounding the bend losing its chance.
Race 6	Amber Cleaning Services Stakes Feature - R/A - 520	This race was put back 2 minutes after TROUBLESOME MASE took an extended period of time to be caught in the previous event delaying the ability for the track to be groomed. HOMEBUSH STASSER (2) - began awkwardly. Weakened final bend. Will be restricted to sprint course racing for the immediate future. ANGRY JANE (3) - turned inwards prior to the first bend when having its hind quarters raced on by MITCHAM USAIN. TROUBLESOME KEV (4) - hampered first bend. MITCHAM USAIN (5) - contacted the hind quarters of ANGRY JANE prior to the first bend before being squeezed for racing room. Jostled with CRYSTAL CILLA rounding the first bend. Weakened final bend. Will be restricted to sprint course racing for the immediate future. CRYSTAL CILLA (8) - jostled with MITCHAM USAIN rounding the first bend. Weakened final bend. Will be restricted to sprint course racing for the immediate future. GREAT WORK (9/7) - held up for racing room rounding the final bend being unable to improve.
Race 7	Kaikanui Tavern Sprint - C0 - 295	HOMEBUSH COOL (2) - checked by the falling CUBBY KEV entering the bend. SEA SPRAY BERT (3) - jostled with CUBBY KEV in the run to the bend. Severely checked entering the bend losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. CUBBY KEV (4) - jostled with SEA SPRAY BERT in the run to the bend. Placed in restricted room entering the bend falling to the track. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have sustained a compound fracture to its left radius and ulna. Humanely euthanised as a consequence. SMASH ZONE (7) - checked and raced wide rounding the bend. GOLDSTAR LOVIE (8) - obligated to hurdle the falling CUBBY KEV entering the bend falling to the track itself as a consequence. Weakened final bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury.
Race 8	Hart Family Greyhound Racing Stakes - C1 - 520	The starter was obligated to withhold the signal to activate the lure due to RIEKO(8) proving difficult to box. The start was assessed and despite the time delay Steward were of the opinion no Greyhounds chances of a fair start were materially prejudiced and the All Clear was given. JOE BONANZA (1) - boxed first. ADOBE BRO (2) - contacted TOM FOX early stages forcing this runner up the track. TOM FOX (3) - contacted from the inside early stages making contact with MAYHEM MADE. MAYHEM MADE (4) - contacted from the outside and then the inside early stages losing momentum. Had heels clipped first bend. HOMEBUSH CARTER (5) - slow to jump. YES YES NO (7) - clipped the heels of MAYHEM MADE entering the first bend. RIEKO (8) - proved difficult to box with it trainer A Botherway requiring some assistance. Will box first for its upcoming starts.
Race 9	Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C1 - 520	BUNDY (1) - obliged to check off heels entering the first bend. NIPPA ENOUGH (2) - lost ground when placed in restricted room entering the first bend. Continued to lose ground with the body of the feild thereafter. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a hock strain. GOLDSTAR DARWIN (4) - placed in restricted room and lost balance for a stride entering the first bend. DIAMOND DAZZLED (7) - slow away before coursing wide through the run to the bend.
Race 10	Crate & Barrel Hotel Dash - C0 - 295	AMURI EXPRESS (1) - slow early. IMPRESSIVE CHASE (4) - squeezed for racing room early stages and again prior to the bend. SMASH TRUST (5) - squeezed for racing room early stages and again prior to the bend. HOMEBUSH FURY (6) - squeezed for racing room early stages. Awkwardly placed to the outside of GOLDSTAR HARLOWE entering the home straight. HOMEBUSH MIST (7) - squeezed for racing room early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend. GOLDSTAR HARLOWE (8) - shifted down the track early stages placing inside greyhounds in some difficulty. Clipped from behind exiting the bend. AMURI EARLY (9/2) - slow early.
Race 11	Addington Events Centre Dash - C1 - 295	PUNCH ON JESSIE (3) - jostled briefly with HOMEBUSH HOTSHOT early stages. Contacted form the outside by HOMEBUSH MILLIE shortly afterwards. Placed in tight quarters entering the bend. HOMEBUSH HOTSHOT (4) - jostled briefly with PUNCH ON JESSIE early stages. Jostled with HOMEBUSH MILLIE exiting the bend. HOMEBUSH MILLIE (5) - contacted PUNCH ON JESSIE in the run to the bend. Jostled with HOMEBUSH HOTSHOT exiting the bend. DOUBLE QUEENIE (6) - jostled with ADOBE SPINNER in the run to the bend. Squeezed for racing room entering the bend losing ground. ADOBE SPINNER (7) - jostled with DOUBLE QUEENIE in the run to the bend.
