Auckland GRC 3 January 2021

1) - Trainer E Potts reported that SPRING QUEEN was found to have an injury to the right groin muscle after competing at Auckland and would be spelled.

Judicial Report

1) - Race 1 and 2 (457m races) were manually started due to an electrical failure following trials.

2) - Race 1 (457m) was declared a no race when the boxes were activated early.

3) - Remedial work was carried out on the 457 metre boxes by an electrician during the course of the meeting and were tested to satisfaction prior to races 10 and 11. Following race 11 another fault became apparent and race 12 was manually started. Remedial work will be carried out on the boxes prior to the next meeting.

The race was declared a no race when the boxes were activated early with the starter shown the footage. LET EM TALK was referred to the veterinarian after falling and was found to be sensitive over the shoulders with a 5 day stand down imposed. BIG TIME BRYNN was referred to the veterinarian after contacting the running rail with no abnormality detected.
Race 2	The Club House Sports Bar Stakes - C1 - 457	REACT RESPOND (6) - collided rounding the bend then tightened losing ground shifting out off heels. LITTLE LEAF (7) - began awkwardly. Collided rounding the bend. BAD BRO BAD (8) - began awkwardly losing ground. Shifted wider off heels final bend.
Race 3	Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Sprint - C3/4 - 375	FERNANDO CHARM (2) - bumped start. Tightened making contact for a distance first turn losing ground. ATHENAIS (3) - bumped start then made contact for several strides. Angled in first turn becoming awkwardly placed then checked losing ground. Held up for a distance rounding the bend then improved through a marginal run. NANGAR HURRICANE (4) - bumped start then tightened making contact. Tightened making contact for a distance first turn losing ground. Collided rounding the bend. DENUTO (5) - slow away. Tightened first turn becoming awkwardly placed on the running rail losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. GRUNT (6) - slow away. CALL ME LEO (8) - collided first turn. JINJA MURPHY (9/7) - tightened making contact after the start. Collided rounding the bend losing ground.
Race 4	Thrilling Brat Distance Heat 1 - C2dq - 747 Heat 1	GEM (4) - inconvenienced after the start shifting in off heels. MIGHTY MUSCLE (8) - slow away. Veterinary examination revealed strained tarso-metatarsal joint with a 14 day stand down imposed.
Race 5	Thrilling Brat Distance Heat 2 - C2dq - 747 Heat 2	STUDENT LOAN (2) - brushed the running rail first turn. Tightened and checked leaving the back straight. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. DOBBY WHO (7) - slow away.
Race 6	Garrads Horse & Hound Sprint - C1 - 375	STAY RICH (1) - tightened and hampered first turn losing ground. PAPA SMURF (2) - bumped after the start and again entering the first turn. OPAWA JADE (3) - hampered for a distance first turn losing ground. JINJA LAD (4) - began awkwardly losing ground. Inconvenienced first turn shifting off heels. BORN TASHA (5) - tightened making contact throughout the back straight and entering the first turn losing ground. FLYING HUEY (6) - contact start then jostled into the first turn. Contact several occasions final straight. OPAWA NEMO (7) - contact start. Contact several occasions final straight. SOVEREIGN PRIDE (8) - slow away. Hampered for a distance first turn losing ground.
