Palmerston North GRC - 10 December 2021

1) Co-trainer S Fredrickson re-presented BLINKEN LILY to the veterinarian on Monday 13 December after being stood down for failing to pursue per rule 55.4. X-rays were taken and show a suspected detachment/fracture at the end of her right stopper bone and a 42 day injury stand down was recommended with the failing to pursue endorsement being removed pursuant with rule 55.5. BLINKEN LILY will be required to complete a satisfactory trial.

Injury trials required:

1) BIG TIME MELODY (B Marsh) - race 7.

General:

1) No weights were recorded as there were discrepancies with the scales when tested by Stewards pre-kenneling. The Palmerston North Greyhound Racing Club have contacted a technician so the scales will be repaired for the next race meeting.

2) The meeting was put back one race prior to race 9 due to a thunder and lightning storm. All races thereafter were running over time due to the short times between races.

Shouldered with BIG TIME ROLEX and became unbalanced for a number of strides when entering the bend. ROCK ON ANNIE (3) - shifted up the track in the early stages, jostling with BIG TIME USAIN for several strides. Shifted up the track when entering the bend. Coursed wide down the home straight. IDOL REIGN (4) - checked off the heels of ROCK ON ANNIE in the early stages. Placed in restricted room when entering the bend and becoming unbalanced for several strides. BIG TIME USAIN (5) - began awkwardly. Shifted down the track when entering the bend, bumping BIG TIME ROLEX. BIG TIME ROLEX (6) - shifted down the track in the early stages contacting ROCK ON ANNIE and was buffeted between runners. Soon after he checked in over heels and was placed restricted room bumping with BIG TIME USAIN and lost ground. Referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury. WONDER WOMEN (8) - shifted down the track in the early stages, tightening BIG TIME ROLEX.
Race 2	Greyhounds Make Great Pets C1/C2 - C1/2 - 457	BIG TIME NAVY (1) - bumped BIG TIME STORM in the early stages. Jostled with VAN IVAN when rounding the bend and became unbalanced for a few strides. VAN IVAN (2) - began awkwardly. Jostled with BIG TIME NAVY when rounding the bend BIG TIME STORM (3) - shifted down the track in the early stages and buffeted between runners in the early stages. Contacted ALLEGRO RUBY along the back straight and was checked, losing balance for a few strides. Checked off the heels of BIG TIME NAVY when rounding the bend, losing momentum for several strides. Was unbalanced for a few strides when exiting the bend. HIGHVIEW NESS (6) - shifted up the track in the run into the bend. ALLEGRO RUBY (7) - shifted down the track and bumped BIG TIME STORM in the early stages. Contacted BIG TIME STORM along the back straight and became unbalanced for a few strides. Bumped BIG TIME BEKIM while rounding the bend. BIG TIME BEKIM (8) - dictated wide down the back straight and obligated to check off the heels of HIGHVIEW NESS when entering the bend. Bumped ALLEGRO RUBY while rounding the bend. Coursed wide when exiting the bend and remained wide down the home straight.
Race 3	mayhounds.org.nz Heat C0 - C0q - 410 Heat 1	BIG TIME DAWN (1) - awkwardly away then contact soon after the start as FEEL THE MADNESS contacted her hind quarters. Checked and lost ground entering the bend as BIG TIME TINK angled across her line. BIG TIME POPPET (4) - fav- lead into the bend and was checked when contacted losing some momentum and ground. SOCIAL VIRTIGO (5) - forced to race wide into and around the bend .Ran onto the hind quarters of LOST IN PACE and checked losing momentum racing into the home straight. BIG TIME TINK (6) - angled inwards in the run to the bend running onto the shoulder of FEEL THE MADNESS and soon after catching the hind of BIG TIME POPPET BIG TIME MEG (7) - awkwardly placed entering the bend and was hampered when clearing heels. LOST IN PACE (8) - raced widest onto the top bend then angled down the track . Angled wide into the home straight and was checked and unbalanced when galloped on as SOCIAL VIRTIGO struck his hind quarters Referred to the vet and cleared of injury. FEEL THE MADNESS (9/3) - soon after the start she became unbalanced for some strides when jostling with runners either side.
Race 4	greyhoundsaspets.org.nz Heat C0 - C0q - 410 Heat 2	BIG TIME GUCCI (1) - raced handy when contacted and unbalanced for a couple of strides into the home straight as LOVE RACE improved on her outer. GRASSCUTTER ALEX (2) - went up in the boxes as the lids lifted. Settled in the midfield thereafter. BIG TIME MYSTIC (5) - dwelt and was slow into stride. She angled wide in the run to the bend being bumped and unbalanced entering the bend. ADOBE BETTY (6) - bumped and jostled for some strides in the run to the bend. Checked and lost ground in the run across the top bend. BIG TIME CRUSADE (7) - angled across in the run towards the bend bumping and jostling with ADOBE BETTY for some strides. Angled out across heel bumping into BIG TIME MYSTIC entering the bend.
Race 5	kiwikiwihounds.co.nz Heat C0 - C0q - 410 Heat 3	BIG TIME CLOUD (1) - awkwardly placed for a couple of strides when entering the bend. Contacted by BIG TIME KILTY when rounding the bend. Became unbalanced for a few strides when exiting the bend. ALLEGRO SCOUT (2) - awkwardly away. Forced to check off the heels of BIG TIME KILTY when placed in restricted room on the bend. Shifted up the track, bumping BIG TIME HELENA. BIG TIME SPRING (3) - shifted down the track in the early stages. Jostled with BIG TIME KILTY for a number of strides when entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and losing momentum. Unbalanced for several strides when exiting the bend. Shifted up the track in the run to the line. BIG TIME KILTY (4) - jostled with BIG TIME SPRING for a number of strides when entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and shifting down the track. Bumped BIG TIME CLOUD when rounding the bend. Became unbalanced for several strides when exiting the bend. BIG TIME GIRLY (5) - bumped MAD WORLD in the early stages. Coursed wide down the home straight. MAD WORLD (6) - bumped BIG TIME GIRLY in the early stages. EXPRESS WAY (7) - became unbalanced for several strides when entering the bend. Bumped Big Time HELENA while rounding the bend. Dictated wide while exiting the bend. BIG TIME HELENA (8) - was up in the boxes when the lids opened. Shifted down the track in the early stages. Obligated to shift off the heels of ALLEGRO SCOUT while rounding the bend, bumping EXPRESS WAY. Coursed wide while exiting the bend.
Race 6	nightravegreyhounds.co.nz Heat C0 - C0q - 410 Heat 4	ALLEGRO BOW (1) - awkwardly away. Placed in restricted room in the early stages. Jostled with LOSING DAYS for a number of strides along the back straight and placed in restricted room when entering the bend. Placed on the heels of BIG TIME CHARM when entering the bend and was severely checked, losing balance for a number of strides. Was galloped on from behind while rounding the bend, becoming unbalanced. Referred to the veterinarian and was found to have pain over the left hind gracilis muscle. A 10 day stand down was recommended. BIG TIME VUITTON (2) - became unbalanced for a few strides when entering the bend. LOSING DAYS (3) - awkwardly away. Bumped OSCAR'S REALITY for a stride and then jostled with BIG TIME CHARM for a number of strides in the early stages. Shifted up the track in the run into the bend, colliding with OSCAR'S REALITY, being shunted sideways and becoming very unbalanced. OSCAR'S REALITY (4) - awkwardly away, shifted down the track in the early stages and was buffeted between runners. Placed in restricted room and obligated to check off the heels of BIG TIME CHARM, losing momentum for a stride. Bumped LOSING DAYS for a stride when entering the bend and shunted into DRUNKEN LULLABY, becoming unbalanced. Contacted SHAKE A LEG when rounding the bend. SHAKE A LEG (5) - slow away. Placed in restricted room in the early stages. Shifted up the track in the run into the bend, checking off the heels of DRUNKEN LULLABY. Coursed wide throughout the bend. DRUNKEN LULLABY (6) - awkwardly away and jostled with BIG TIME CHARM in the early stages. Placed in restricted room and obligated to check off the heels of BIG TIME CHARM. Shunted by OSCAR'S REALITY when entering the bend and checked. Was referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury. BIG TIME CHARM (7) - shifted down the track, jostling with DRUNKEN LULLABY and then LOSING DAYS for several strides in the early stages. Hampered when galloped on from behind while entering the bend. Became unbalanced for a few strides when exiting the bend. Was referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury. BIG TIME HAYLEY (8) - coursed wide down the back straight. Became unbalanced, losing momentum for a few strides while exiting the bend.
Race 7	Creative Catering Reverse Criteria C1 - C1 - 410	BAILEY AND CREAM (1) - awkwardly placed when looking to clear heels entering the bend losing some momentum. BIG TIME MELODY (3) - began awkwardly for a stride or so. She came back from between runners entering the bend and lost ground finishing a margin in the rear at the line. Referred to the vet and was found to have a hock strain to right hind. A 42 day stand down was recommended with an injury trial to be completed. Connections have advised that the dog is to be retired. WAITING GAME (4) - hampered racing from the boxes as HOMEBUSH MANDY angled in across her line. HOMEBUSH MANDY (5) - soon after the start she angled in across the line of WAITING GAME
Race 8	Red Snapper Seafoods, Christchurch C1 - C1 - 410	HIGHVIEW BRUCE (1) - fav- Clipped heels and fell soon after straightening for the line. He quickly recovered to his paws to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet and was cleared of injury but has been stood down for 5 days as per the fallen runner policy. BIG TIME PORSCHE (3) - improving into the home straight and was hampered for a couple of strides. as HIGHVIEW BRUCE ran onto her hind.
Race 9	Outback Trading Company C1 - C1 - 410	BIG TIME VIOLET (1) - fav- soon after the start she was hampered for some distance in the run to the bend as ALLEGRO ROBBIE lay in. She lost momentum and ground in the run onto the top bend. PORCELAIN PANDA (2) - angled out between runners into the bend coming together with BIG TIME POKEMOM and jostled for some strides. ALLEGRO ROBBIE (3) - angled across in the run towards the bend hampering BIG TIME VILOLET for some strides. BIG TIME POKEMON (6) - hard contact racing from the start as SWEENEY TODD ran into him. Angled outwards in the run towards the top bend coming together with PORCELAIN PANDA and jostled for some strides losing ground. Referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury. SWEENEY TODD (7) - forced to abruptly check out over heels into the bend and lost ground.
Race 10	PNGRC Sectional Times @ pngreyhounds.kiwi C1 - C1 - 410	BIG TIME FAYE (1) - placed in restricted room when rounding the bend. BIG TIME NOAH (2) - raced in restricted room when entering the bend. Obligated to check off the heels of BIG TIME PACKER when exiting the bend. Jostled with DEFER FIRE in the run down to the line, losing momentum. BIG TIME LORNA (3) - dictated outwards when exiting the bend, becoming unbalanced and losing momentum. DEFER FIRE (4) - slow away. Shifted down the track in the early stages. Checked off the heels of BIG TIME NOAH and bumped CLANSMAN DOUGLAS when entering the bend. Jostled with BIG TIME NOAH in the run down to the line. AL'S CASINO (5) - shifted up the track in the early stages and raced wide throughout. BIG TIME PACKER (6) - awkwardly away. Hampered by runners in the early stages. Placed in restricted room when entering the bend. BIG TIME FABIO (7) - shifted down the track in the early stages. CLANSMAN DOUGLAS (8) - bumped DEFER FIRE when entering the bend and became unbalanced for a few strides. Unbalanced for a few strides when exiting the bend.
Race 11	Paul Claridge Electrical C1 - C1 - 410	BIG TIME CARNAGE (1) - bumped soon after the start as OPAWA JADE checked inwards bumping into her shoulder. OPAWA JADE (2) - hampered racing from the start as ALLEGRO BANDIT angled across her line. She then checked across heels bumping into BIG TIME RAFE. ALLEGRO BANDIT (3) - fav- Racing from the start he angled in across the line of OPAWA JADE checking this runner. BIG TIME RAFE (4) - soon after the start he was bumped as OPAWA JADE angled outwards. BIG TIME HOTSHOT (5) - forced to angle out across heels and came together with KING KOBE in the run towards the top bend. KING KOBE (7) - began awkwardly and was slow into stride. he checked out over heels entering the bend racing widest soon after coming together with BIG TIME HOTSHOT.
Race 12	Total Bodyshop Supplies C2 - C2 - 410	ARIANA SUNSET (1) - bumped in the early stages. Placed on the heels of KIOSK and becoming unbalanced for a few strides when rounding the bend. Jostled with BIG TIME STAR for several strides when exiting the bend. BIG TIME YONKERS (2) - shifted down the track in the early stages, bumping ARIANA SUNSET. KIOSK (3) - placed in restricted room when entering the bend. Bumped with MY BENTLEY for numerous strides when rounding the bend, losing momentum. Jostled with TRUE TESTAMENT when exiting the bend. PAVING WAY (4) - shifted up the track and jostled with BIG TIME STAR for several strides down the back straight and into the bend. Coursed wide when exiting the bend. Contacted BORN TRIXIE down the home straight, causing him to become unbalanced for a stride. MY BENTLEY (5) - placed in restricted room down the back straight and again when entering the bend. BIG TIME STAR (6) - jostled with PAVING WAY for a number of strides down the back straight and into the bend. Jostled with ARIANA SUNSET for several strides when exiting the bend. Was referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury. BORN TRIXIE (7) - shifted down the track in the run into the bend, becoming unbalanced for a stride. Coursed wide when exiting the bend, dictated wide and contacted PAVING WAY down the home straight. TRUE TESTAMENT (8) - jostled with KIOSK when exiting the bend.
Race 13	Merry Christmas From PNGRC C2/C3 - C2/3 - 410	OPAWA BUD (1) - racing handy when checked into the bend as YESENIA angled to the rail losing momentum and ground. PARADOX PRINCE (2) - angled outwards bumping with YESENIA then checked wide into the bend. He soon after checked in across heels and bumped with YESENIA again. ZAMAH (3) - angled into the bend across the line of OPAWA BUD checking this runner. BIG TIME SPOT (4) - came back off heels in the run across the top bend. YESENIA (8) - checked across heels racing from the start and lost some initial momentum. Angled across towards the bend and bumped with PARADOX PRINCE entering the bend.
