GENERAL:

CARDANO (J Dunn) suffered a catastrophic injury during trials and was euthanised on humane grounds.

After the running of Race 9 where some dogs received serious injuries, a meeting of Trainers and Stewards resulted in the remainder of the meeting being abandoned due to the Trainers' concerns about the state of the track.

Contact made with outside runner kennels bend. WILLENE BALE (3) - checked early stages. Wide back straight. OPAWA NUT (4) - contacted between runners on jumping unbalanced. MILKY TEA (5) - stepped out kennels bend contacting outside runner. MY CURLY (6) - hampered on jumping. OPAWA WAYNE (8) - bumped with inside dog kennels bend.
Race 4	Hart Family Greyhound Racing Stakes - C3/4 - 520	GOLDSTAR YANKEE (2) - held up home turn. IT'S A BABE (3) - ran wide back straight. MANDY JEWEL (4) - stepped out kennels bend. OPAWA ANITA (6) - off heels home turn. TOKYO BIRD (7) - slow away. Checked between dogs entering home straight. EPIC CRUZE (8) - forced wide kennels bend. Held up home turn off heels shifted out.

Referred to vet and found to have a torn gracilis with a 42 day stand down recommended. Must complete a Satisfactory Trial prior to resuming.
