Connections were reminded of their obligations. OPAWA LUKE (1) - tightened making contact entering the first turn then jostled for a distance. Collided rounding the bend. KEA VIKING (2) - tightened and hampered entering the first turn losing ground. BIG TIME FELIX (4) - contact after the start. Angled in racing into the first turn making contact then jostled for a distance. WHEELHOUSE (5) - tightened and checked after the start. Collided first turn and again rounding the bend. ZIPPING LOCKETT (6) - tightened and checked after the start. OUR HOTROD (7) - collided when tightened between runners first turn losing ground.
Race 2	Mike Stent Decorators New Zealand Derby Heat 1 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1	OPAWA CONAN (1) - checked first turn then made contact. Bumped concluding stages. THRILLING RISK (2) - faltered first turn then gave ground. Contact final bend. Assessed by vet and found to have a swollen/haemorrhaged gracilis with a 30 day stand down recommended. ALLEGRO MARS (3) - collided after the start. CLAWS IN RAMBO (4) - tightened and hampered after the start losing ground. Checked rounding the bend shifting out off heels then made contact.
