Auckland GRC - 3rd April 2022

1). Stewards have concluded their investigation into the nomination and subsequent scratching of the greyhound NIGHT ACE (J Foot) from this meeting. After taking into account evidence from Mr Foot along with detailed information from GRNZ's website provider it was established the greyhound had been correctly nominated and scratched by Mr Foot with the greyhound now being stood down for 28 days under GRNZ Rule 40.15 effective 1st April 2022

General:

1). Selected greyhounds competing in solo training trials were required to provide a sample of urine for the purpose of out of competition testing.

Injury trial:

1) - BIG TIME CHANELL (R & N O'Regan) - required to trial prior to resuming.

Race 2	Jo's Wholesale & Sports Bar Taipa Tavern Sprint - C0 - 318	GIRL HOPE (1) - jostled throughout the back straight. RED CONQUEST (2) - jostled throughout the back straight. NOT KILTY (3) - collided start then made contact for a distance back straight losing ground. Awkwardly placed near the running rail first turn becoming unbalanced shifting out. FLAME ABLE FOX (4) - collided start then tightened between runners making contact for a distance losing ground shifting in abruptly becoming unbalanced. SCOOBY BLUE (5) - collided start then made contact for a distance back straight. KETTLE POT (7) - angled in back straight tightening inside runners. SCOTCH MIST (8) - raced wide throughout.
Race 3	Book Your Function @ Sportsbowl Function Centre - C1 - 318	THRILLING TUCKER (1) - collided several occasions back straight. Steadied when tighten first turn. BIG TIME LENNY (2) - slow away then checked for a distance shifting wider. Dictated wider first turn. CHINESE BYRNS (3) - tightened between runners making contact back straight checking off heels becoming unbalanced losing all chance. Bumped first turn. DOUBLE HEADER (4) - contact for a distance back straight shifting out off heels. Checked first turn steadying off heels. BIG TIME CHANELL (5) - faltered then dragged down back straight becoming badly unbalanced losing all chance. Bumped first turn. Veterinary examination revealed torn left gracilis with a 42 day stand down imposed. Required to trial prior to resuming. PORTLAND ART (6) - lay in onto hindquarters back straight.
Race 4	MPS Fencing Stakes - C1/2 - 527	THRILLING VIOLET (1) - tightened making contact for a distance entering the first turn becoming unbalanced then further contacted losing ground. DUBLIN EXPRESS (2) - contact rounding the first turn. Held up entering the back straight and again for a distance leaving it. NANA MOLLY (3) - tightened making contact for a distance entering the first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. Held up final bend. IN THE CLINCH (4) - tightened making contact for a distance entering the first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. SERBIAN ACE (5) - slow away. Checked first turn shifting wider off heels. Raced wide. OPAWA MEG (6) - tightened and checked first turn becoming unbalanced shifting wider. TRIGGERED (7) - angled in first turn making contact becoming tightened. THRILLING TEMPER (8) - collided first turn.
Race 5	Hewlett Electrical Sprint - C3/4 - 318	LUCY MIRKO (2) - collided back straight then made contact for a distance entering the first turn losing ground. THRILLING RAPPER (3) - collided several occasions back straight then tightened making contact for a distance entering the first turn losing ground. HOT LITTLE NANCY (4) - collided back straight then made contact for a distance entering the first turn losing ground. PORTLAND BLONDE (8) - raced wide throughout.
Race 6	New Zealand Derby Day @ Cambridge Thursday Sprint - C1 - 318	SADOWSKI (1) - tightened making contact after the start then continued to make contact throughout the back straight and rounding the first turn. SMOKIN' CHIMNEY (2) - tightened making contact after the start then continued to make contact throughout the back straight losing ground going back into the line of VEGAS CHOPS. HILLBILLY BREWED (3) - shifted in start making contact. Tightened making contact first turn shifting out off heels. VEGAS CHOPS (4) - slow away. Got on hindquarters back straight then tightened and checked shifting out off heels losing ground. Bumped rounding the bend. LACHLAN'S GIRL (5) - shifted in first turn making contact. RAMBLIN' KANE (6) - contact for a distance rounding the first turn becoming tightened between runners losing ground. Bumped rounding the bend then inconvenienced. BLITZING STAR (7) - collided for a distance first turn becoming tightened between runners losing ground and shifting wider. Shifted in across heels final bend. BEAUDEN JOHN (8) - collided rounding the bend becoming unbalanced losing ground.
Race 7	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C1 - 318	AL'S WITCH (2) - collided several occasions back straight and entering the first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. SIR YENS (3) - collided after the start. GO TINA (4) - contacted from behind after the start then tightened between runners. Contact for a distance back straight. ALLEGRO ROBBIE (5) - began awkwardly then contacted hindquarters losing ground. DYNAMIC EMPIRE (6) - tightened making contact after the start losing ground. Tightened making contact throughout the back straight and rounding the first turn losing ground. HOMEBUSH LUTHER (7) - collided after the start and for a distance back straight.
Race 8	Pump & Engineering Services Ltd Stakes - C1 - 527	BAD BRO BAD (2) - brushed the rail first turn. Veterinary examination was not carried out due to the trainer promptly leaving the course prior to communication regarding this. Stewards will follow up in coming days. OPAWA TRUMP (3) - bumped first turn then tightened. RAIN AND SHINE (4) - bumped first turn. BIGTIME ALFIE (5) - collided leaving the back straight losing ground. THEA WHO (6) - collided leaving the back straight. Shifted out off heels rounding the final bend to obtain clear racing room. SHELLY POM (7) - slow away.
Race 9	Sportsbowl Function Centre Sprint - C3 - 318	BUGSY BROWN (1) - slow away. Checked first turn losing ground. ZOE STAR (2) - contact concluding stages. Showed signs of cramping following the event with a veterinary examination revealing no abnormality. ROCKED IT (3) - slow away. Collided back straight. Contact concluding stages. FOR YOU PAGE (4) - bumped back straight. OTAKI RIVER (5) - jostled after the start. Collided back straight. Collided for a distance first turn becoming unbalanced shifting wider. BELMONTS (6) - jostled after the start. Collided for a distance first turn becoming unbalanced shifting wider. FIRST LIGHT (7) - slow away. Checked first turn shifting out abruptly off heels losing ground.
