Southland GRC - 20th May 2022

1). Trainer A Hart has advised CHEEKY LU had undergone x-rays after sustaining an injury during a solo trial it this meeting with these revealing a fractured right metatarsal. As a consequence the greyhound has been stood down for 42 days and pending an injury trial.

Christchurch GRC - 20th May 2022

1). Trainer A Lee advised that MIXED WELL strained a hock at this meeting and has been retired from racing.

Stand Downs:

1). CRYSTAL CILLA (J McInerney) - for an unsatisfactory performance in race 1.

2). HOMEBUSH BRANDY (J McInerney) - 28 days and pending a satisfactory trial for Marring in race 5.

3). HOMEBUSH ARIANA (J McInerney) - for an unsatisfactory performance in race 11.

Referred to the Veterinarian where it was found to have a dislocated toe with a 28 day incapacitation issued. GOING GORILLAS (3) - hindquarters brushed in the early stages. Lost ground when placed in restricted room entering the bend. EPIC BLOSSOM (4) - shifted down the track and across the hindquarters of GOING GORILLAS early stages. CRYSTAL CILLA (7) - commenced to give ground in the run to the bend taking no competitive place in the event. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for an unsatisfactory performance and must trial prior to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
Race 2	kiwikiwihounds.co.nz Adoption Sprint - C0 - 295	HOMEBUSH NOAH (1) - shouldered with HOMEBUSH BLUEY early stages. HOMEBUSH BLUEY (2) - shouldered with HOMEBUSH NOAH early stages APACHE BOY (3) - slow early. Crowded entering the bend. HOMEBUSH RETA (5) - Stewards questioned the improved performance of this bitch with Kennel representative J McInerney Jnr advising it had been advantaged by the reduced field numbers and an uninterrupted run throughout.
Race 3	The Fitz 2 Sports Bar Sprint Final - C0f - 295	GOLDSTAR ODETTE (2) - checked by WANDERING STAR entering the bend falling to the track as a consequence. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. WANDERING STAR (3) - placed in restricted room entering the bend losing ground and causing GOLDSTAR ODETTE to fall. ADOBE UNDERWORLD (5) - forced into restricted room early stages. Severely checked by the falling GOLDSTAR ODETTE entering the bend. BE SWIFT (6) - crowded and forced down the track onto ADOBE UNDERWORLD early stages. HOMEBUSH DOVE (7) - forced BE SWIFT down onto ADOBE UNDERWORLD early stages.
Race 4	American Warrior @ Stud Stakes - C0 - 520	OPAWA CODY (2) - shifted up the track in the run to the first bend making contact with the hindquarters of OPAWA ERIC before becoming awkwardly placed to the inside of TAI PO. Coursed wide exiting the final bend and through the run home. OPAWA ERIC (4) - hindquarters raced on in the run to the first bend. TEXAS JEWEL (5) - hindquarters raced on early stages. MEGA FUN (6) - raced on the hindquarters of TEXAS JEWEL early stages. TAI PO (7) - hampered from the inside in the run to the first bend. Awkwardly positioned on heels entering the first bend.
Race 5	Clarkson's Sign Studio Dash - C0 - 295	HOMEBUSH BRANDY (1) - turned its head outward towards greyhounds to its outside in the run to the bend before making muzzle contact with OHOKA COCO. Crowded entering the bend losing ground before being dragged down by TOBY MCGILL. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory trial for Marring. PRINCELY ASSET (2) - obligated to check inwards off heels early stages. HOMEBUSH VINNY (3) - placed in restricted room in the run to the bend. OHOKA COCO (4) - marred from the inside approaching the bend. TOBY MCGILL (6) - climbed on the heels of HOMEBUSH BRADY entering the bend losing its chance. HOMEBUSH JANET (7) - slow early. SMASH TALK (8) - coursed wide in the run home.
Race 6	Addington Events Centre PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	KNOW BEAST (G Cleeve) was a late scratching when found to have a hip support strain. BALDRICK (3) - jostled with HOMEBUSH TAILS early stages. HOMEBUSH TAILS (4) - jostled with BALDRICK briefly early stages. AMURI SPOT (5) - crowded and obligated to check off heels approaching the bend.
Race 7	Real Pet Foods Rolleston Sprint - C0 - 295	OHOKA BELFAST (4) - slow early. Forced up the track rounding the bend. HOMEBUSH CLASSY (5) - jostled with TURF BURNER entering the bend before clipping this greyhounds heels losing ground. MR MUGGINS (7) - checked outwards off heels rounding the bend becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of HOMEBUSH THEO. TURF BURNER (8) - jostled with HOMEBUSH CLASSY entering the bend before having its heels clipped losing ground.
Race 8	Happy Birthday Maureen Kingston PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	IMPRESSIVE AMY (1) - boxed first. Heels clipped entering the bend losing momentum and shifting up the track. STARR BLUEBLOOD (2) - crowded and clipped the heels of IMPRESSIVE AMY entering the bend. JAYCEE BALE (3) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend having to check. GORILLA'S SMILE (6) - forced up the track rounding the bend bumping the hindquarters of GOLDSTAR JUSTICE. HOMEBUSH ABBY (7) - boxed first. Awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend. GOLDSTAR JUSTICE (8) - hindquarters raced on rounding the bend.
Race 9	Camside Stud PBD Dash - C1 - 295	HOMEBUSH ENBECK (2) - slow early. SMASH DRAGON (4) - shouldered with GOLDSTAR LORENZO in the run to the bend. IMPRESSIVE CHARM (7) - crowded entering the bend having to check. GOLDSTAR LORENZO (8) - shouldered with SMASH DRAGON in the run to the finish.
Race 10	Dave Robbie Photographer PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	HALSWELL HUSTLE (2) - hindquarters contacted from the outside on jumping before bumping shoulders with DOUBLE QUEENIE. Obligated to race on the heels of DOUBLE QUEENIE entering the bend losing ground. GOLDSTAR FARRYN (3) - made contact with the hindquarters of HALSWELL HUSTLE on jumping before racing in restricted room. Checked and lost momentum entering the bend. DOUBLE QUEENIE (4) - bumped shoulders with HALSWELL HUSTLE early stages. Crowded and then checked from behind entering the bend losing ground. EL PADRINO (6) - raced in restricted room early stages. WILD THYME (7) - awkwardly positioned to the outside of runners entering the bend.
Race 11	Racing Again 24 May @ 12.02pm PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	HOMEBUSH ARIANA (1) - commenced to give ground in the run to the bend taking no competitive place in the event. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have quadriceps muscle soreness with a 10 day incapacitation issued. Notwithstanding this the greyhound was stood down to complete a Satisfactory Trial prior to resuming. Connections advised they would give consideration to retirement. HOMEBUSH RED (2) - slow early. BOOTSTRAP BILL (8) - boxed first. Slow early.
Race 12	Rose & Thistle PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	GOLDSTAR MAUNEY (1) - lost ground when crowded entering the first bend. HOMEBUSH JENNIA (2) - hampered when racing between runners entering the bend. KNOCKA KNOW HOW (3) - boxed first. Came up with the lid after its muzzle was caught being slow early as a consequence. Checked entering the bend. BRYLEIGH BEE (4) - hindquarters raced on early stages. MITCHAM GINNY (5) - raced on the hindquarters of BRYLEIGH BEE early stages. LONELY GUY (6) - lost ground when racing in restricted room entering the bend checking KNOCKA KNOW HOW.
