General:
1) Selected greyhounds competing in solo training trials were required to provide a sample of urine for the purpose of out of competition testing.
2) CAVEMAN'S QUEEN (G Hodgson) which completed a return to racing trial was subjected to a post trial urine sample.

Fines:
1) M Gowan - for failing to present BRICKMAN (race 5) for kenneling by the prescribed time. $50.00.

Race 1 | TAB Racing Mega Multi Buster C0 - C0 - 375 | The head on home straight camera was unavailable for the purposes of reviewing this race. The issue was rectified for the remainder of the meeting. DAWN LIGHT (2) - proved difficult to load. Slow away and unable to get into contention thereafter. Trainer Mrs. D Bell advised Stewards that DAWN LIGHT had been difficult to load in the past however had been trialing well recently. Mrs. Bell further advised that DAWN LIGHT was inexperienced and she would monitor her loading in future and discuss with Stewards possibly placing her on the box first list if required. COMMISSAR (4) - awkwardly placed on heels nearing the home straight needing to angle outwards to gain clear racing room, losing ground as a result. Raced very wide through the latter stages of the bend and through the home straight. BLUE ACHIEVER (7) - coursed wide entering the home straight. JASEN'S CUT (8) - slow away. |
Race 2 | Greyhound As Pets C0 - C0 - 457 | SWEET LUELLA (2) - slow away. Jostled with BAY HILL for a distance nearing the bend, then buffeted BAY HILL entering the bend. BAY HILL (3) - jostled with SWEET LUELLA for a distance nearing the bend, then buffeted between runners losing ground entering the bend. Jostled, briefly, with BUTTER nearing the winning post. BUTTER (4) - jostled, briefly, with BAY HILL nearing with winning post. BIG TIME TANIWHA (5) - moved up the track shortly after the start bumping GO NORMAN, then squeezed that runner. BIG TIME LOTUS (6) - slow away. Buffeted BAY HILL entering the bend. GO NORMAN (7) - bumped shortly after the start, then squeezed between runners. Raced wide for the majority of the event. OPAWA RICHARD (8) - squeezed GO NORMAN shortly after the start. |

Contacted OSCAR'S REALITY entering the bend. Bumped OSCAR'S REALTIY on the point of the bend. Coursed wide entering the home straight. TRUTH HURTS (3) - contacted shortly after the start. Tightened entering the bend. WAITING GAME (4) - contacted shortly after the start. Coursed wide entering the home straight. EXPRESS WAY (5) - tightened TRUTH HURTS entering the bend, then placed in restricted room becoming unbalanced and contacting HIGHVIEW MAGGIE. HIGHVIEW MAGGIE (6) - began awkwardly brushing OSCAR'S REALITY. Contacted entering the bend losing ground. Inconvenienced nearing the home straight. OSCAR'S REALITY (7) - began awkwardly brushing HIGHVIEW MAGGIE. Contacted entering the bend. Bumped on the point of the bend. Checked from behind nearing the home straight becoming unbalanced and inconveniencing HIGHVIEW MAGGIE. Referred to the OTV and found to have split webbing on his left hind between his 2nd and 3rd toes. A 14 day stand down period was recommended. OPAWA ZIVA (8) - slow away. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend becoming unbalanced and stumbling. Checked OSCAR'S REALITY from behind nearing the home straight. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. |
Race 4 | Big Barrel Palmerston North C1 - C1 - 457 | BIG TIME SUPER (L Cole) was a late scratching prior to kenneling. EDDIE EVEREST (1) - contacted from behind shortly after the start. Jostled with HIGHVIEW RADAR for a distance nearing the bend. Attempted to move up the track entering the bend contacting HIGHVEIW RADAR in the process. Raced wide through the bend and home straight. HIGHVIEW RADAR (3) - contacted EDDIE EVEREST from behind shortly after the start. Jostled with EDDIE EVEREST for a distance nearing the bend. Contacted entering the bend, in turn bumping BLUE ON BLACK. Placed BLUE ON BLACK in restricted room through the home straight. BLUE ON BLACK (4) - heavily contacted shortly after the start. Bumped entering the bend. Placed in restricted room through the home straight and unable to improve to the inside of HIGHVIEW RADAR. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. STAY CONNECTED (5) - checked STRAIGHT SHOT from behind shortly after the start. Tightened entering the bend losing some ground. GRASSCUTTER JOE (6) - slow away. Tightened STAY CONNECTED entering the bend. STRAIGHT SHOT (8) - proved difficult to load. When questioned connections advised that STRAIGHT SHOT was usually not difficult to load and they were confident there should be not further issues, however Stewards will continue to monitor STRAIGHT SHOT in boxing away. Angled across the field shortly after the start heavily contacting BLUE ON BLACK then checked from behind and out of contention thereafter. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. |

JOAN JET (2) - began awkwardly. Contacted nearing the first bend. COILED SPRING (3) - tightened entering the first bend. UNCLE ALBERT (4) - tightened COILED SPRING entering the first bend. HIGHVIEW NESS (6) - slow away. Contacted BRICKMAN from behind entering the back straight. Raced wide for the majority of the event. BRONSKI BEAT (7) - raced wide through the early stages of the home straight. BRICKMAN (8) - moved up the track entering the back straight, then contacted from behind losing ground. Appeared awkward in his action thereafter. Referred to the OTV and found to have various skin punctures on both hind legs. A 7 day stand down period was recommended. |

When questioned with regards to BIG TIME CLOVER's performance trainer Ms. M Flipp advised Stewards that she had been disappointed with today's effort, she was also of the opinion that BIG TIME CLOVER may not have recovered from a recent trip away. Ms. Flipp further advised that it was her intention to give BIG TIME CLOVER a freshen up prior to resuming. CRISPY CHICKEN (8) - bumped BIG TIME CLOVER at the start. Raced wide through the bend. |
Race 7 | Outback Trading Company C1 - C1 - 375 | ADOBE FOX (1) - began awkwardly. Tightened entering the bend losing ground. Raced wide through the bend and home straight. SHAKE A LEG (2) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend losing ground. DREAM BUSH (3) - tightened ADOBE FOX entering the bend. Improved to the inside of BIG TIME KIA nearing the home straight, contacting that runner in the process. BIG TIME KIA (4) - tightened and stumbled entering the bend. Tightened nearing the home straight, then contacted and lost ground. Bumped PRETTY BELINDA entering the home straight. Referred to the OTV and found to have abrasions on left hind toes and pain over her left caudal thigh muscles. A 10 day stand down period was recommended. Awkwardly placed behind runners entering the home straight, contacting HIGHVIEW MOOSE from behind when attempting to find clear racing room. GO ROYCE (3) - contacted from behind entering the bend. HIGHVIEW MOOSE (4) - tightened entering the home straight, simultaneously being contacted from behind and becoming very unbalanced and losing ground. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury.
