Christchurch GRC - 30th August 2022

1). Trainer M Roberts reported that NIGHTHAWK NOISE had been found to have contracted Kennel Cough the morning after this meeting which necessitated it's scratching from todays meeting. As a consequence to this being reported the caution Stewards placed on it's performance has been retracted.

General:

Selected greyhounds competing in training trial were subjected to samples being taken for the purpose of out of competition testing.

Warnings:

1). R Evans - Failure to comply with GRNZ Dress Code.

Injury trial:

1). TOKYO BIRD (A Roberts) - must complete a trial prior to resuming.

GOLDSTAR GLENYS (5) - contacted from the outside early stages being turned inwards. HOMEBUSH BENJI (6) - contacted from the outside early stages colliding with GOLDSTAR GLENYS as a consequence losing ground. IMPRESSIVE CRUSH (7) - boxed first. Forced down onto HOMEBUSH BENJI early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend losing ground. Checked off heels exiting the bend. HOMEBUSH ARI (8) - shifted down the track through the initial stages forcing IMPRESSIVE CRUSH down onto HOMEBUSH BENJI. Hampered entering the bend losing momentum.
Race 3	Real Pet Foods Rolleston Sprint - C0 - 295	HOMEBUSH CRICKET (2) - shifted off heels exiting the bend. MR MUGGINS (3) - hindquarters contacted early stages. HOMEBUSH AXEL (4) - lost ground when obligated to race in restricted room and contact the hindquarters of MR MUGGINS early stages. Crowded entering the bend. HOMEBUSH CLASSY (5) - checked early stages. ROCKDALE DORA (6) - shifted down the track abruptly early stages checking HOMEBUSH CLASSY. HOMEBUSH MADISON (7) - slow to jump.
Race 4	mayhounds.org.nz Rehoming Group Sprint - C2 - 295	HOMEBUSH SHADOW (2) - boxed first. Slow early. Crowded for racing room approaching the bend and again entering the bend having to check and lose ground. Checked off heels in the early stages of the run home. HOMEBUSH SPARKLE (4) - shouldered down onto the heels of AMURI LUCK in the run to the bend losing ground. LAREDO JEWEL (5) - shouldered HOMEBUSH SPARKLE down onto the heels of AMURI LUCK in the run to the bend. Shouldered with SCARDINY exiting the bend. SCARDINY (6) - bumped with ELSA BLUEBLOOD prior to exiting the bend shifting up the track as a consequence before shouldering with LAREDO JEWEL. ELSA BLUEBLOOD (7) - bumped with SCARDINY prior to exiting the bend. HOMEBUSH RANGER (8) - slow early.
Race 5	Swimming Goat @ Stud Sprint - C2 - 295	HOMEBUSH CARDI (1) - inconvenienced entering the bend. AMURI EARLY (5) - hindquarters raced on early stages. HOMEBUSH SOCKS (6) - inconvenienced entering the bend. SOZIN'S PRINCE (7) - raced in restricted room early stages making contact with the hindquarters of AMURI EARLY. Obligated to race wide entering the bend. KILDY'S WHISKEY (8) - jostled with HARRY BAXTER exiting the bend. HARRY BAXTER (10/2) - crowded entering the bend having to check and cause and inconvenience to HOMEBUSH CARDI and HOMEBUSH SOCKS. Jostled with KILDY'S WHISKEY exiting the bend before shifting off this runners heels.
Race 6	Clarkson's Sign Studio Stakes - C1 - 520	GOLDSTAR WALKER (1) - shouldered with GOLDSTAR NOODLE entering the first bend losing ground. GOLDSTAR NOODLE (2) - came up with the lid and was slow to jump as a consequence. Shouldered with GOLDSTAR WALKER entering the first bend. GOLDSTAR TOBY (5) - bumped with MY CURLY entering the first bend. GOOFY ADOBE (7) - shouldered with MY CURLY early stages. Placed in tight quarters approaching the first bend losing ground. MY CURLY (8) - shouldered with GOOFY ADOBE early stages. Bumped up the track entering the first bend. HOMEBUSH NOAH (9/6) - raced in restricted room early stages.
Race 7	Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C2 - 520	GOLDSTAR YOGI (1) - jostled with GOLDSTAR BROOKS in the run to the first bend before being awkwardly placed to the running rail losing ground. GOLDSTAR BROOKS (2) - jostled with GOLDSTAR YOGI in the run to the first bend before being placed in restricted room when crowded by FRANK. FRANK (3) - Crowded GOLDSTAR BROOKS in the run to the first bend. TOKYO BIRD (9/4) - galloped indifferently shortly after the start losing ground with the field. Continued to do so thereafter being referred to the where it was reported to have torn its left gracilis with a 42 day incapacitation issued. Must trial prior to resuming.
Race 8	Steve Anngow Drapes & Blinds Ph0272719588 Sprint - C2 - 295	HOMEBUSH STASSER (4) - hampered entering the bend. HOMEBUSH RED (5) - shouldered with GOLDSTAR JUSTICE early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend. GOLDSTAR JUSTICE (6) - shouldered with HOMEBUSH RED early stages.
Race 9	Tony Jones Farewell From FENZ Stakes - C3/4 - 520	GO HAZEL (1) - shouldered with MRS CHINN early stages. MRS CHINN (2) - shouldered with GO HAZEL early stages. Race in tight quarters entering the first bend. QUETZAL BALE (4) - placed in restricted room entering the first bend checking OPAWA BARRELL and ICED MOCHA. OPAWA BARREL (7) - shifted off heels in the run to the first bend. Checked entering the first bend losing ground. ICED MOCHA (8) - checked entering the first bend losing ground.
Race 10	Balcairn Stockfoods & CopRice Dog Food Dash - C3/4 - 295	PENALTY DROP (2) - raced in restricted room entering the bend losing ground. Placed in restricted room rounding the bend. KNOW PICK (4) - obligated to race on heels entering the bend having to check. DR. BRAVESTONE (8) - assessed by vet after an incident at the lure and found to have sesamoid pain with a 14 day stand down recommended.

DIAMOND VAPER (3) - shouldered with AMURI RURU in the run to the bend. AMURI RURU (6) - shouldered with DIAMOND VAPER in the run to the bend. KNOW MAJORITY (9/5) - slow early.
Race 12	Rose & Thistle Sprint - C2 - 295	HOMEBUSH LEROY (1) - began awkwardly. SOZIN'S QUEEN (3) - shouldered briefly with AMURI PATTY early stages. Hindquarters raced on rounding the bend. TAIERI SNAPSHOT (4) - boxed first. Checked off heels early stages colliding with the hindquarters of MITCHAM KING. Crowded and obligated to race on the hindquarters of SOZIN'S QUEEN rounding the bend. AMURI PATTI (5) - shouldered briefly with SOZIN'S QUEEN early stages. MITCHAM KING (6) - hindquarters contacted early stages. Checked off heels in the run to the bend. HOMEBUSH LIAM (8) - checked from behind in the run to the bend.
