Track: Good 5 Following Race 9 a track inspection was carried out which revealed inconsistencies in the track on the bend leaving the back straight. After consultation with Track Staff, Club Officials and Stewards it was agreed that the meeting be abandoned. At a subsequent meeting it was established that it was unlikely that these inconsistencies could be resolved before tomorrow's meeting and the decision was made to abandon the meeting scheduled for Friday, 17 May.

Race 5	Thursday Place Pick Dash - C4 - 295	ORLA BALE (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure cleared of injury. KNOW DAISY (6) - referred to the Veterinarian and reported to have lost a dew claw with a 7 day incapacitation issued.
Race 6	Steve Anngow Drapes & Blinds Ph 0272719588 Distance - C1/2d - 645	GRANDE VUE ACE (1) - fell with a lap to run. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for the mandatory 5 days as per GRNZ Rule LR41A(1)
Race 7	Valley Inn Tavern Stakes - C4 - 520	GOLDSTAR REMI (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after getting tightened into the bend losing ground and cleared of injury. OPAWA SCHOFER (6) - referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a split webbing with a 14 day incapacitation issued.
Race 8	Springston Hotel Sprint - C5 - 295	ALLEGRO SECRET (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a checked on the home turn and falling at the lure cleared of injury. CATERPIE BALE (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure cleared of injury. ON GRID (6) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure cleared of injury.
Race 9	Selwyn Rakaia Vets Ltd Stakes - C5 - 520	JOVITA (6) - badly checked and fell into first turn. Referred to the Veterinarian and reported to have a fractured right radius/ulna. Due to the catastrophic nature of this injury the Greyhound was euthanised on humane grounds. PALAWA QUEEN (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after being badly checked first turn then faltering soon after failing to complete the event and reported to have a fractured right radius/ulna. Due to the catastrophic nature of this injury the Greyhound was euthanised on humane grounds.
