Wanganui GRC (Straight Track) - 26 June 2024.

1) Trainer Ms. M Flipp advised Stewards that BLACKCURRANT (race 3) was showing signs of soreness post this race day, with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing bruising and swelling to the left triceps muscle requiring a 42 day stand down with the greyhound being required to complete a trial prior to racing next.

OLD PAL (4) - fell entering the first bend after becoming awkwardly placed behind runners, clipping a heel. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for the mandatory 5 days as per GRNZ Rule 41A(1) LUDLOW LAD (8) - referred to the Veterinarian after showing signs of soreness post race where it was reported to have swelling and pain on flexion of left carpus with a 21 day incapacitation issued, with X-rays required within three days. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 2	Lance Green Accountant C0 305m - C0 - 305	GOLDSTAR MURPHY (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving interference entering the bend, becoming unbalanced, contacting outside runner nearing the home straight where it was reported to have right front split webbing with a 14 day incapacitation issued. SISTER SHADOW (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after being contacted nearing the home straight, then heavily contacted entering the home straight and cleared of injury.
Race 3	Property Brokers Floyd,Toy & Jonas Real Estate C1 305m - C1 - 305	ABBEY ROAD (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after being squeezed nearing the home straight, becoming unbalanced, losing ground as a result where it was reported to have mild bruising and pain on left sartorius muscle with a 14 day incapacitation issued. END OF ERA (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after being squeezed nearing the home straight, becoming unbalanced, losing ground and cleared of injury. BIG TIME DIXIE (8) - turned in the boxes failing to take a competitive part in the race. Required to complete a satisfactory trial prior to resuming as per GRNZ rule 106(1). Referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury.
Race 4	Happy Birthday Georgia Cole C1/2 520m - C1/2 - 520	GOLDSTAR OPAL (1) - severely checked nearing the winning post on the first occasion, appearing awkward in her action thereafter before appearing to falter, drifting to the rear of the field through the final bend. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a fractured right hock. The Greyhound was transported immediately to GRNZ's contracted Veterinary Clinic for treatment with this being followed up in the coming days. A 90 day incapacitation has been issued and the Greyhound must trial prior to racing again.
Race 5	Jolt Coffee House Wanganui C5 305m - C5 - 305	BIG TIME KENZIE (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after an incident at the lure and cleared of injury.
Race 6	Moore Law Whanganui C3 520m - C3 - 520	GOLDSTAR PARKER (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after being heavily contacted from behind nearing the winning post on the first occasion, becoming unbalanced and cleared of injury.
