Supplementary Report - Southland GRC 1 July 2024:

1). Trainer H Anderton has reported that x-rays taken from BRAVE RULER following its performance on Monday,1 July 2024, have revealed a hairline fracture of the right metacarpal. A 42-day incapacitation has been issued and the Greyhound must complete a Satisfactory Trial prior to resuming.

HOMEBUSH PIPER (9/1) - referred to the Veterinarian after faltering and losing ground rounding the bend where no injury could be found. Direction given to have the greyhound examined by Primary Veterinarian in the coming days. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance and satisfactory trial.

Race 4	Gore Town & Country Club - C1 - 390	MARTY BAXTER (5) - stewards questioned the improved performance of this greyhound with trainer J McInerney Jnr. Mr McInerney explained that the greyhound had been freshened from a viral complaint and appreciated a drop in competition today.
Race 5	greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 457	OPAWA WEATHERLEY(7) - was a late scratching after it was found to have a puncture wound to a toe on its right front foot.

Race 7	Ascot Park Tricode Facility - C1 - 390	GOTCHA SLIM (2) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a check rounding the bend losing ground where it was reported to have pain on palpation of its right gracilis with a 7 day incapacitation issued.

Race 9	Southland & Otago Photo Finish - C2 - 390	HOMEBUSH VALDEN (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after continuing to race uncompetitively and cleared of injury. Stewards spoke with trainer J McInerney regarding his intentions with the greyhound who explained that it was his intention to retire the greyhound. Notwithstanding this the greyhound has been stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.

Race 11	Otatara Stakes - C4/5 - 457	OPAWA SUSAN (6) - referred to the Veterinarian after presenting lame post-race where it was reported to have a fractured metatarsal with a 60-day incapacitation issued. Must trial prior to resuming.. KNOW SPEED (8) - referred to the Veterinarian as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 12	Riverton Dash - C5 - 390
Race 13	Otago Greyhound Racing Club Dash - C4 - 390	KAREN JEWEL(4) - was a late scratching when found to have pain to its upper right bicep femoris. HARRY BALE (2) - eased and turned its head outwards towards HOMEBUSH MAX rounding the bend. Underwent a Veterinary examination and cleared of injury. Stood down for 28 days and pending a satisfactory trial as per GRNZ Rule 124 & 127 (b). TRIXIE JEWEL (9/5) - referred to the Veterinarian by connections after being found to have a split webbing and possible dislocated toe with a 14-day incapacitation issued. Follow up with primary Veterinarian required in the coming days.
