Wanganui Straight Track - 19 August 2024

1) Stewards followed up with the recovery of SHAUN THE CHASER (race 6) and were advised the Greyhound had undergone extensive tests at Massey University veterinary clinic which revealed a grade two spinal lesion. SHAUN THE CHASER has returned to owner/trainer Mr. D Denbee to continue his rehabilitation. The 90 day incapacitation period is to remain, with Mr. Denbee also being advised a veterinary clearance will be required prior to trialing again.

General:

1). The meeting was put back by one race due to a false start in race 9, resulting from mechanical issues with the boxes.

Race 9	Baldricks Cunning Plan C4/5 520m - C4/5 - 520	1).There was a false start when the boxes failed to open with all Greyhounds being removed and checked by the OTV and cleared to start. The event was then further delayed, resulting in the schedule being pushed back by one race. 2).BIG TIME BRAVE (6) - was declared a late scratching after the false start at the request of connections. 3). Stewards and the Starter opted to hand-start the race. ICY HOPE (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure and cleared of injury. HE'S ALL GO (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after being tightened into the first bend and checked and losing ground thereafter and cleared of injury.
