Palmerston North GRC - 3rd September 2024

1). Trainer M Flipp reported that GO ROYCE, after showing signs of lameness, underwent x-rays the next day. The results revealed a hairline fracture in the 3rd right metatarsal and a slab fracture in the right 4th tarsal, leading to a 90-day stand-down period. GO ROYCE is required to complete a trial before returning to racing.

General:

1). Trainer S Lozell approached the Stewards during the week to request the withdrawal of OPAWA ELIOT from tonight's race meeting. Mr. Lozell reported that the greyhound had started chewing its kennel, leading him to lose confidence in the dog's ability to race without the influence of a prohibited substance. The Stewards accepted Mr. Lozell's concerns and, finding the reasons valid, permitted the withdrawal.
