General:

1). The meeting was delayed after race 3 to allow Stewards, club officials, the track curator, and senior trainers to inspect the track. This inspection was prompted by several greyhounds sustaining abraded carpal pad injuries. Remedial work was carried out, with the track to be further monitored, notwithstanding this, trainers were afforded to opportunity to scratch free of penalty. Following race 4, it was noted that the remedial work had caused a new issue which was unable to be remedied in a timely manner. Following consultations with the track curator, club officials, and Stewards, the track was deemed unsatisfactory for continued racing, leading to the abandonment of the remainder of the meeting. **Updated 1 October 2024**

Race 1	Southland Greyhounds Welcome - C0 - 390	PHOENIX FAGAN (4) - turned its head outwards towards DENZAL BAXTER exiting the bend and again in the run home making muzzle/head contact with this runner. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have an inflamed left triceps muscle and stiffness on extension to its left fore leg with a 21-day incapacitation issued. Notwithstanding this the greyhound \was stood down for 28 days and pending a satisfactory trial as per GRNZ Rule 123 & 127 (a).
Race 2	Southland & Otago Photo Finish - C0 - 457	GOLDSTAR HERB (3) - referred to the Veterinarian as a precaution after losing ground in the run home and cleared of injury. LITTLE POTENTIAL (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after presenting with blood on its left carpal region post-race where it was reported to have a carpal pad abrasion with a 10-day incapacitation issued.
Race 3	Invercargill Distance - C0d - 630	ZARA JEM (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after presenting with blood to both front carpal regions post-race where it was reported to have abrasions to both carpal pads with a 10-day incapacitation issued. Rescinded @ Addington 18 October 2024 ADOBE PEACH (8) - referred to the Veterinarian after presenting with blood to its left dew claw post-race where it was reported to have a small laceration to its left dew claw, pain in right triceps muscle and left infraspinatus muscle with a 21-day incapacitation issued. **Rescinded on 21/10/24 at Addington **
