Judicial report: On track Veterinarian: Dr. K McDermott BVSc

Judicial:

1). Stewards conducted an investigation into why handler K Fraser was in possession of his mobile device behind the boxes prior to the start of race 1. They reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed several witnesses, including officials present at the time. Mr. Fraser was asked to provide a detailed account of his actions and the reasons for having his mobile device in that restricted area. After carefully considering Mr. Fraser’s explanation, which included his acknowledgment of the rule and the circumstances that led to the incident, the Stewards concluded that no further action was necessary. However, they issued a caution to Mr. Fraser and reminded him of his obligations under GRNZ rule 96, which prohibits the use of mobile devices while handling greyhounds. In taking this course of action, the Stewards took into account Mr. Fraser’s previously unblemished record and his understanding of the importance of compliance with this rule moving forward.
