Race 2 | KIA TOA MAIDEN SPRINT - C0 - 297 | BAGRIZZNIX BOY jumped in and checked KAITOKE PRINCESS who settled last but recovered to finish in third place. One of the favourites CALL ME SPYRO was handy into the first turn but was checked by AMANDA CHOICE and lost its chance of a placing. Soon after, ROYAL CARE and SABRE TIME who were racing at the rear, were checked and they finished in the last two places. |
Race 3 | HELL'S PIZZA MAIDEN - C0 - 505 | The favourite JEWEL ran out at the start, checked ARANUI FLASH and they both settled well back and failed to improve much. TIMELY CHAINSAW was pushed wide on the first corner and then had to check off the heels of ARANUI FLASH entering the back straight. UTIKU SMILES was checked on the final bend and dropped out to finish last. She was examined by the vet and stood down for 30 days with a serious tendon injury. Race 4 | BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C0 - 297 | HOKIO STAR, MR GULLIVER, SWIFT BREEZE and KAITOKE POWER all collided on the home turn and lost all chance, finishing well back. |
Race 5 | PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOGRAPHER - C0 - 505 | KARAKA FLASH was a late scratching under Rule 269 (3) when underweight and the Trainer was fined $ 100-00 under the same rule. MARIOS MATE and COMANCHE BRAVE jostled together for several strides on the first bend and then MARIOS MATE dropped out to finish well back and was examined by the vet and cleared of injury at that time. Race 6 | ALBION TAVERN SHANNON - C1 - 297 | The winner TONY THE GREEK moved in on the first corner and checked ARDISHAH, PERFECT BREEZE, LESLIES PEARL and TINKAMORE and they lost several lengths. PUNI FIRE was slow to begin and was then pushed wide on the bend and eventually finished in last place. |
Race 7 | FOXTON HOTEL - C1 - 505 | HE'S A BLUR was scratched due to injury. KIWI MANA was slightly hindered after jumping out but then ran out wide and tailed the field and finished near the rear. The Trainer was advised that the dogs racing manners would need to improve or a stand down was imminent. Mrs Fornasiere indicated that KIWI MANA would probably not be persevered with as a racing proposition. Race 8 | AWAPUNI HOTEL MOTEL - C1 - 297 | IMAGE OF ISHBELL galloped on the heels of NITE HAWK LADY on the first turn as NITE HAWK LADY tended to move out and she then caused checks and ruined the chances of ICEYMORE, OH SO LYRICAL and DISSIPATE and they filled the last four places. |
Race 9 | OUTBACK TRADING - C1 - 297 | ENDLESS STORY began awkwardly and settled back and was then checked by FREDDY COUGAR on the first turn and dropped out to last. SECRET PRINCE moved out in the back straight and crowded PENMANS PAL and HOMEBUSH KERRY for several strides. |
Race 10 | OXFORD TRUST - C1 - 505 | ASTRO VIEW and DES'REE collided on the first turn and DES'REE was forced wide. HOMEBUSH BLAZE was checked as they raced into the final bend and eventually finished in last place. |

They eventually finished well back and TEDDY TYLER suffered a toe injury and was stood down for 7 days. JODAMAN suffered a webbing injury and was stood down for 14 days. Race 16 | GOBIS CLUB BONUS SERIES - HEAT 3 - RESq - 505 Heat 1 | BLACK TIBET, FRANNY HALL and the favourite SCANDINAVIAN came together and checked at the end of the back straight and this ruined any chance that they may have had of a placing. |
Race 17 | COURTESY FORD - C1/2 - 505 | The favourite LITTLE PRESSY was slow to begin and settled at the rear before making ground in the back straight. She then received a check when improving inside BRONNIE BOLTA and that was the end of her chance of a placing. |
Race 18 | OUT BACK TRADING - C2/3 - 297 | GIN GINGER CAPP and EDNA MAYCEE were slow to begin and settled at the rear. The favourite DURAN PHOENIX was away well and handy into the first corner but struck the rail, went back quickly to the rear and stayed there. |
Race 19 | ALBION TAVERN SHANNON - C1/2 - 297 | LADY PIAVONIC was scratched due to an injury. PEEL RIDGE SUE, TIMTAGEL STAR and TURBO JEWEL came together and jostled for several strides in the race to the first corner. SONNY BOY JONES ran very wide and covered extra ground around the bend and into the straight and finished in last place. HELLO SAILOR suffered a small cut to a hind toe and was stood down for 7 days.
