On the first turn Certainly was tightened and fell severely checking Follow The Trend as a result. A post race veterinary examination on Certainly detected no injury. Shooshla ran outwards in the home straight inconveniencing and forcing Time Over Boots wide. Coruba Storm (G.C.Farrell). Selection error. Club scratching. No penalty. |
Race 2 | DENIS SCHOFIELD: LEADING TRAINER AT CAMBRIDGE - C1 - 457 | Given Title, Charlston Deal and Mr Horatio were the slowest to begin. Black Tyler ran outwards at the start severely checking Davron Lass and Hostile Girlie. Black Tyler ran wide on the first turn and remained wide throughout the race finishing last. |
Race 3 | PRINCE ZIDANE: TOP HURDLER SPRINT - C2 - 375 | No head-on coverage of this race was available from TAB Trackside. Hove Dale (A.Cleaver) was reported to be difficult to extract off the lure at the conclusion of the race. Entering the home straight Booming Time moved outwards slightly hampering Cosmic Eclipse. |
Race 4 | SKIPPER RIP: TOP STAYER, IMPROVERS FINAL - C1f - 457 | Justa Half (C.J.Morris) The Starter reported that this greyhound was difficult to box. Justa Half was slow to begin. Just prior to and on entering the first turn Thrilling Match and Coach Purdon jostled resulting in both being checked. On the home turn general tightening resulted in checks to Super Deal and Charlie Cash. |
Race 5 | DENIS SCHOFIELD: STRIKERATE TRAINER DASH - C1 - 375 | Queen Rowley ran inwards at the start and checked Davron Express. Nadal and Destiny's Run came together for a stride after 25 mtrs. Destiny's Run and Davron Express jostled entering the first turn. Nadal ran outwards across the heels of Ima Freeman on the bend. Destiny's Run moved outwards in the home straight and checked itself and Ima Freeman. |
Race 6 | CHARLSTON STATE: TOP MIDDLE DISTANCE - C2/3 - 457 | Rushed Affair and Thrilling Dash were the slowest to begin. Origin Teddy ran inwards at the start checking Dancing Bohemian and Ash's Assassin. Dancing Bohemian drifted soon after the start and never improved thereafter finishing last. A post race veterinary examination detected no injury. Thrilling Dash did appear to have an abnormal galloping action and a post race veterinary examination detected a minor injury requiring treatment but no stand down from racing. Ash's Assassin raced wide, covered extra and finished a respectable 3rd. |
Race 7 | NZ RACING SERIES DISTANCE - FINAL - RESdf - 747 | Franny Hall was slow to begin. Thrilling May ran inwards at the start checking Light Pockets, Shiraz Royale and Blue Fern. Blue Fern was tightened and checked slightly by Upahut Rose moving to the rail on the first bend and then raced at the rear before running wide on the home turn and finishing strongly in the home straight for 4th. Den Of Fire (N.P.Green). Withdrawn from this race final prior to box draw. Moderately severe hock strain. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.1. 14 days up to and including 02.10.05. |
Race 8 | MAXI THE TAXI: TOP SPRINTER - C4/5 - 375 | This race was rescheduled to start 2 minutes later than the advertised time due to a request from TAB Trackside. No time was taken for this race due to an electronic timing programming error. Jane Doe and More Gold came together for a stride after the start and then were checked slightly on entering the first turn. Jane Doe endeavoured to move outwards on the first turn became unbalanced and galloped on the hind quarters of More Gold with both runners being severely checked and losing all chance. |
Race 9 | OLD ROWLEY: THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES - C2 - 457 | Baltasar, Under Time and Trendy Time were the slowest to begin. Tiger Eyes drifted soon after the start, stayed at the rear until the home straight and then made up ground for 6th. Thrilling Hubba ran outwards after 60 mtrs and severely checked Thrilling Guy. Secret Teddy moved outwards on the first turn and hampered Thrilling Hubba slightly. |
Race 10 | CHARLSTON STATE: WAIKATO DOG OF THE YEAR - C4/5 - 457 | Kiwi Assassin was slow to begin. Winsome Guy reared as the boxes opened and lost 2 lengths. Entering the first turn Clock Stopper was tightened, checked and came back onto Winsome Guy which was severely checked. |
