Weather: FineTrack: Good Discussions were held with the Club's Secretary regarding the importance of ensuring that all equipment, including the boxes are maintained in good working order and grease applied where necessary prior to the meeting commencing. The importance of regular power harrowing of the track was also discussed.

Health and Safety comment: Nothing to report.
Judicial report: Licence holder Jake Woolston Bell was spoken to advisedly and warned that any further comments to Stewards which could be termed to be bordering on being offensive would not be tolerated in the future.

Race 1 | Decoart Printed Products, Levin - C0 - 375 | The box lids failed to open and the dogs were removed, checked and boxed up again and the start was activated manually and approxamately two minutes late. Adjustments were made to the opening catches on the box lids following the race. PARNELL MIST and THRILLING NERO were slow to begin and they stayed well back throughout the race. RUSTY ENFORCER was handy until approaching the straight entrance where he was checked and went back onto RURAL LADY and they both lost ground and the chance of a placing. |
Race 2 | Morrie Gibbons Signs - C1 - 375 | The box lids opened a little slower than normal but after viewing the video replays at length, the Stewards were of the opinion that no runner was affected by this and the clear to pay was given. Further maintenance was carried out by way of the application of grease to the box lid catches. CASANRA BALE began a little awkwardly and lost ground. HOMEBUSH ASTRID was checked and lost several lengths on the first corner and CASANRA BALE was pushed wide over extra ground in the incident. |
Race 3 | Pain Security Services - C1 - 375 | THRILLING PURE was checked and lost three lengths on the first corner and soon after, THRILLING BENNY moved out and caused checks to HOT SPICEY BOY and BIGTIME MILLY who both lost ground and they never recovered. |
Race 4 | Vision Manawatu Middle Distance - C1 - 457 | Tightening on the first corner resulted in checks to OHAU WILLEE, THRILLING LILLI, DAPTO TOKEN and LOCHINVAR PRINCE who all lost ground and the chance of a placing. DAPTO TOKEN suffered a pad and a quadricep injury and was stood down for 14 days. EVA TITU was knocked over at the lure and possibly suffered the laceration injury to a thigh at that time and she was stood down for 7 days. |
Race 5 | Oroua Downs Tannery Middle Distance - C1 - 457 | PURE FURY was very slow to begin losing several lengths and she stayed back to finish in last place. |
Race 6 | Sports Lodge Motel, Wanganui - C2 - 375 | MISS TORI was very slow away and lost several lengths and she stayed back and finished in 2nd last place. HOMEBUSH JAZZ checked over the heels of FORGET NOT on the first corner and moved out pushing MISS TORI wide into the bend over extra ground. |
Race 7 | GEON Wellington Open Sprint - C5 - 375 | LEUMEAH MISS was handy enough to the first corner but was checked and then checked again on the bend and dropped back to finish in last place. |
Race 8 | Outback Trading Company Ltd - C4 - 375 | BLAKE'S ANGEL galloped on the heels of FLASHFIRE COAL on the first corner and they both lost ground. SILENT EPISODE galloped on the back of ADDIS JAY on the bend and they both suffered severe checks and went quickly back to the rear. SILENT EPISODE pulled up soon after and was examined by the Vet and euthanased due to multiple foreleg fractures. ADDIS JAY was also examined by the Vet and stood down for 21 days with quadricep and gracilus muscle injuries. JOSHIE'S GIRL was also checked in the incident and finished in 2nd last place. |
Race 9 | Radio Trackside 828AM Manawatu - C3 - 375 | DEVILS MARBELS was checked soon after the start and lost four lengths. I'M INFECTIOUS and GO GROOVY were checked and lost several lengths on the first corner and they never recovered and finished in the last two places. |
Race 10 | Levin Racing Club Ryder Stakes At Otaki On Saturday - C3 - 457 | PAYNEFUL TRUTH began awkwardly and lost three lengths and then was forced to race wide into the first corner and jostled with ACCUSER for several strides. Once able to get down closer to the rails, PAYNEFUL TRUTH was able to make up some ground for 6th place. |
