Club management were requested to undertake further urgent remedial work before racing on Friday 08.01.10.

Incident Reports
Race Number | Race Name | Incident Report |
---|---|---|
Race 1 | The Brownzy Sports Bar - North Shore - C2 - 305 | THRILLING DEE moved in soon after the start and hindered THRILLING FEVER and PSYCHOTIC who both lost ground with THRILLING FEVER going back to last. PSYCHOTIC then eased off the heels of THRILLING DEE on the first corner and then had to check off the same dogs heels on the bend and moved out forcing BIGTIME GUY very wide over extra ground and he finished in last place. TRICKY PAULA led until approaching the straight entrance but then ran wide into the straight losing ground and this probably cost her the chance of a closer placing than 3rd. |
Race 2 | Cafe Cibo - Upper Hutt - C2 - 520 | WHAT A MATE was slow to begin and he stayed well back to finish in last place. JOE BANNER moved in from box 7 soon after the start and checked over the heels of CAWBOURNE OPAL and lost ground. HOMEBUSH NICK moved across in the run to the first corner and jostled CAWBOURNE OPAL who lost a little ground. CAWBOURNE SPEED checked off the back of HOMEBUSH NICK on the first bend and ran wide over extra ground but recovered to finish in 3rd place. The lead dog BIGTIME RELOADER went up close to the lure on the first bend for a few strides but the Stewards were satisfied that this did not have any affect on the result and the payout was authorised. |
Race 3 | Opawa Racing Ltd - C2 - 305 | TIPSY MAGOO moved in from the start and tightened PHANTOM FOG and FORGET NOT who went back to the rear and they stayed well back to the finish. WINNER SCHNITZEL was also slightly affected in the incident but recovered to finish in 2nd place. TIPSY MAGOO was handy on the bend but was checked and dropped back onto SALLY BAXTER and both dogs lost all chance. The winner ROBUST BOY moved in on the home turn and checked PENIE'S FROM who lost a little ground and this possibly cost her the chance of a closer placing than 3rd. |
Race 4 | Valley Parking Services - C1 - 520 | The favourite BIGTIME ALL STAR was slow to begin and then checked off the heels of OKAY'S VERA DEE on the first corner, moved out and galloped over the back of ROTOVEGAS GIRL who fell. COMET PRINCESS was the slowest to begin and settled in last place. |
Race 5 | Gold Band Finance - C3 - 305 | NATASHA'S DUFFER moved in racing to the first corner and caused jostling to MONEY SHOT, CLASSIC BEN, BIGTIME SURVIVOR and LEATHER JACKET for several strides and they were all eventually checked with CLASSIC BEN falling and the others losing all chance. CLASSIC BEN lay on the track for some time before eventually regaining his feet and walking back to the kennels where he was checked by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with concussion. |
Race 6 | Commercial Plumbing - Auckland. 6 Pack - C1 - 520 | All clear. |
Race 7 | E J Wing Memorial Challenge Cup - C5f - 520 | ALFA DANCER, who drew box 8, ran in sharply from the start and checked all other runners except GONE ZILLA and MILLY'S MATE who had started from the inside two boxes. Race 8 | B & P Engineering - C4 - 305 | The favourite TWO TO MIDNIGHT was one of the slowest to begin but recovered to finish in 2nd place. TWO TO MIDNIGHT moved in racing to the first corner and ROUGH ENFORCER on the inside resisted the movement and then moved out which resulted in CAWBOURNE CROWN being tightened and checked between ROUGH ENFORCER and HEALING CRYSTAL. CAWBOURNE CROWN then faltered and dropped out to finish a long last with ROUGH ENFORCER also losing ground in the incident. CAWBOURNE CROWN was examined by the Vet and was euthanased due to a hock injury. |
Race 9 | Thornton Auctions - Penrose - C1/2d - 645 | The start of this event was delayed by 8 minutes whille the Stewards inspected the track and ordered another grooming after complaints from two Trainers about deep paw marks in the track. The race was all clear. |
