Health and Safety comment:
Judicial report: DYNA JOE (G Pomeroy) and SWANKY LEE ( L Jensen) both completed satisfactory trials under r
The stewards declared race nine a no race and the club were very proactive in paying out compensation under the abandonment rule
The lure was found to have a broken wire and this was quickly fixed and the lure was tested with no further problems throughout the rest of the meeting , there was no delay race 10 was run on time
TERRY STANLEY (fav) in race 5 was ordered for a vet check by the stewards after a mediocre run as a precaution
TERRY STANLEY was not presented for a vet check ,the kennel rep Ms K Wilson was questioned by the stewards as to the whereabouts of the dog and we were advised that allegedly the dog had been returned to the Albany keels of the trainer Mr S Clark earlier in the day in error
The stewards were reluctant to accept this explanation however in the interests of dog welfare the connections were not asked to return the dog to the track
Ms K Wilson was reminded of the obligation of the person in charge of the dogs at the track that it is their responsability to make sure that vet checks ordered on dogs are carried out within a reasonable time at the request of the vet or stewards ,and vet checks not attended to will not be tolerated in the future
